Protesters Crash 2018 BAFTA Film Awards Red Carpet

As celebrities such as Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lawrence as well as Kate Middleton and Prince William arrived at the 2018 BAFTA Film Awards, several members of a feminist protest group crashed the area to stage a political demonstration, prompting police to intervene.

Wearing black and purple tops that read “Times Up Theresa,” about a dozen protesters from Sisters Uncut linked arms and lined up and even lay down on the red carpet at the Royal Albert Hall in London before the ceremony on Sunday. Police eventually moved the group. Police were called and the group soon left. No arrests were made and the protesters made no contact with famous guests.

“Sisters Uncut stormed the BAFTA red carpet to protest [British Prime Minister] Theresa May‘s upcoming Domestic Violence and Abuse Bill, which they say will criminalize survivors while distracting from devastating funding cuts to domestic violence services nationwide,” the group said in a press release, adding that the U.K. leader’s domestic violence policies will leave survivors “locked up in prison, locked out of refuges, and locked in to violent relationships.”

At the BAFTAs, film stars wore black to support the global Time’s Up campaign to stop sexual harassment and inequality in the workplace.

“We are in solidarity with the Time’s Up campaign,” the Sisters Uncut press release quoted protester Ana Kaur as saying. “Like the Alianza Nacional De Campesinas, we recognize that gender-based violence happens everywhere, and that to disclose abuse requires support. As well as calling Time’s Up on individual perpetrators, we have to call Time’s Up on our government for failing to provide us with real options and support.”

Nipsey Hussle ‘Victory Lap’ Album Release Party Halted By Gunfire

Nipsey Hussle’s Victory Lap album release party came to an end by gunfire.

The Crenshaw rapper hosted an album release party for his debut LP Victory Lap at the World On Wheels in LA on Saturday Night. Nipsey Hussle reportedly bought the place last year so naturally, that’s where he would host his grand album release party. Sources say someone started firing shots in the parking lot just before midnight and one person was struck by a bullet and taken to the Cedar-Sinai Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.

Cops were quick on the scene but the shooter got away by the time they arrived, TMZ reported. The victim also refused to cooperate with officers leaving them without a clue about what went down. Partygoers thought that it was another mass shooting incident underway and some of them sound off on Twitter saying that everyone panicked. World On Wheels is an iconic roller rink located in Venice, Los Angeles. Nipsey Hussle helped the place get back up last year when he invested his personal money into it.

After leading Team Clippers to victory at the the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game on Friday, Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler surprised fans with an impromptu karaoke performance of the band’s 2007 track “Intervention” at a bar in Los Angeles. Few things are as cringe-inducing as performing your own song at karaoke, and Butler seems noticeably uneasy, wandering around the bar’s patio area in an attempt to break the awkwardness. Check Out This New Tool That Lets You Scratch Vinyl Without A Needle

DJ purists, your dreams have been answered because there’s a cool little invention that could potentially bring  back the vinyl era (not that it’s ever truly gone). Thanks to a nifty new tool Phase by French company MWM, you can now essentially scratch vinyl without using a needle in your DJ sets.

Phase works by translating the movements of a record into standard timecode format called DVS (Digital Vinyl System) used by most digital DJ tools such as Traktor and Serato. Phase works on any vinyl, simply by being affixed on top of a record, and it plays the digital files via your standard DJ tool (using DVS) which means that you can scratch and play records to your heart’s desire without the need of a needle. Phase is extremely portable, as you can see from the video below, and works with any turntable and any record player setup.

KSHMR & Sidnie Tipton Link Up Once More For “House of Cards”

KSHMR and Sidnie Tipton do it again! The ultra-prolific producer and the soulful singer first linked up for “Wildcard,” the ultra-catchy main-stage banger that dominated 2016. Now, they’re back for a follow-up collaboration with a much more mature record on KSHMR’s label Dharma.

“House Of Cards” demonstrates KSHMR’s ability to produce cross-genre hits. The record is certainly more ‘muted’ than the mainstage bangers that we’ve come to expect from KSHMR – but in a good way. It’s a synth-driven piece which features a catchy rifts throughout that pair perfectly with Sidnie Tipton’s soulful vocals.

Iceage – Catch It lyrics

Reeling in the line
Fully saccharine
All these stagnant words which I confide
Perish in the night
Anyway so
Here we go again
Always faintly preying
Did I note a tremble on your arm
Thereupon alarmed
Just give in

Make me real
You reel in then you catch it
Catch it, catch it, catch it, catch it, catch it
Come make me real
You reel in then you catch it
Catch it, catch it, catch it, catch it

Time moves forward quickly
Moves in twenty-four
Hour segments racing for the soul
To grab chokehold
Of the minute hands
Left without a trace
Just a fleeting face
Flicker as a figment once before my eyes
Perished in the night

You want it, you want it, you want it again
Why don’t you come and ask me, I adore you my friend
I said you need it, you need it, you need it again
Trust me, these arbitrary thrills will never fail to transcend

Make me real
You reel in then you catch it
Catch it, catch it, catch it, catch it, catch it
Come make me real
You reel in then you catch it
Catch it, catch it, catch it, catch it

Come make me real
You reel in then you catch it
Catch it, catch it, catch it, catch it, catch it
Come make me real
You reel in then you catch it
Catch it, catch it, catch it, catch it

I said you want it, you want it, you want it again
Why don’t you come and touch it, I adore you, my friend
I said you need it, you need it, you need it again
Trust me, these arbitrary thrills, they never fail to transcend
Make me real
You reel in then you catch it
Catch it
Catch it

Dotter – Cry lyrics

[Verse 1]
You better go and wipe out the doubt in your head
Go and tell him you leavin and kick him right out of your bed
I’ve been keepin’ it quiet but now imma tell you the truth
He has always been on it and he never cared about you

[Pre-Chorus]
In other words
In other words
I’ll always be here by your side
And I hope you’ll find
Some peace of mind

[Chorus]
Cry him out tonight
Cry your heart right out

But he ain’t worth it
Deep down you know it
Go say goodbye and pack your bags
And let him know

Cry him out tonight
I’ll dry your tears but now it’s time you let him go

[Verse 2]
He’s got your love in a box your heart on the floor
I’ve been watching him do what he does I ain’t gonna no more
I bet all a of my dollars I’m burning them up in flames
That he thought he could go and have you play all of his games

[Pre-Chorus]
In other words
In other words
I’ll always be here by your side
You’ll be just fine

[Chorus]
Cry him out tonight
Cry your heart right out

But he ain’t worth it
Deep down you know it
Go say goodbye and pack your bags
And let him know

Cry him out tonight
I’ll dry your tears but now it’s time you let him go

[Bridge]
Go cry him out
Until he’s gone and you dried out
You know you better off without

[Chorus]
Cryyyyy
Cry him out tonight

But he ain’t worth it
Deep down you know it
Go say goodbye and pack your bags
And let him know

Cry him out tonight
I’ll dry your tears but now it’s time you let him go
