Story National projects
National project “Digital Economy” could not appear. The development of technology in the world has gone at such a breakthrough pace that it is necessary to start preparing for professions in the digital sphere from school age.
At the expense of the state
But let's start the story with adult education. With the federal project “Artificial Intelligence” national project “Digital Economy” in 2022, more than 2,300 Russians will be able to receive financial support for training in the field of artificial intelligence. Training will begin in September (now the operator — University 2035 — is selecting educational organizations with experience in implementing additional professional education programs in the field of artificial intelligence (AI)). Advanced training programs lasting from 250 academic hours will be distributed in the following areas: “Data Analyst”, “Data Engineer”, “Technical Analyst”, “Data Architect”; and AI Architect. The full cost of the programs will be up to 110 thousand rubles, but up to 85 thousand of them will be compensated to educational organizations at the expense of the project, and people will pay the rest of the cost of the courses themselves or at the expense of the employer.
Also, more than 100 courses are offered by the Digital Professions project. More than 100 thousand applications have already been received from those wishing to master an IT specialty with a 50%, 75% or 100% discount at the expense of the state through the public services website. The top five most popular areas included “Test Engineer”, “Python Developer”, “Internet Marketer”, “Interface Designer”. and Data Scientist Plus.
Train and participate
Now about the students. Since companies in the digital economy feel an acute shortage of specialists (according to various estimates, the country as a whole has a shortage of 500 thousand to 1 million people a year), the state, thinking about the future, increases the interest in technology among schoolchildren. All kinds of forms have been chosen.
For example, now the training stage of the All-Russian Olympiad in artificial intelligence is taking place for schoolchildren in grades 8-11. Last year, the 1st place was won by a student of the 9th grade of gymnasium No. 5 in Novorossiysk Semyon Komarov. He is interested in programming. Previously, he was engaged in aircraft modeling and sees a craving for engineering sciences in this. “I am inspired by the stories of people like Linus Torvalds (the creator of the operating system) and Evgeny Kaspersky (the creator of the antivirus), — the student says. — I would call my goal participation in the real sector of the economy, so that my talents and abilities are used to create something new and necessary for the country.
You can try your hand until September 25 by registering on the site https://olimp.edsoo.ru/An interactive bank of training tasks is available around the clock. On September 26, the selection of participants for the next stage will begin. To the questions «AiF» Andrey Gorobets, Director of the Department of Digital Transformation and Big Data of the Ministry of Education of Russia, Co-Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the All-Russian Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence, Andrey Gorobets.
— On July 1, the training stage began online. Will the Olympiad itself be held remotely?
— The first stages are carried out remotely, on the technological platform of the VK company. And in November 2022, 50 finalists will gather for the final stage of the intellectual competition — it will be held face-to-face.
— What school subjects give children the knowledge to participate in this Olympiad?
— The Olympiad is held in accordance with the requirements for the subject results of teaching computer science at an advanced level, established by the Federal State Educational Standard for basic general and secondary general education. Each participant needs basic mathematical training, the basics of logical, algorithmic thinking — they are given by the subjects of mathematics and computer science. But one should not underestimate the role of additional educational programs, their availability for schoolchildren is now growing everywhere. The 2021 finalists noted the benefits of open educational webinars that are held before each stage of the Olympiad.
— What basic skill should schoolchildren have — be able to program?
— The winner of the Olympiad will be the one who has a wide range of interests, who is passionate about the achievements of modern science and technology, whose knowledge and skills go beyond the standard school curriculum. And to participate in the Olympiad, it is enough to have a desire to learn the capabilities of a computer and use them to solve various life problems. Programming skills will certainly come in handy.
— To what extent does the level of training tasks correspond to the tasks of the Olympiad itself?
— The level of difficulty is selected in such a way as to prepare participants for completing the tasks of the qualifying stage. For additional preparation for the tasks of the main and final stages, methodological materials are posted on the Olympiad website https://olimp.edsoo.ru/resources with an analysis of techniques and methods for solving Olympiad problems in artificial intelligence.
— Is the AI Olympiad a list? Does it give advantages when entering universities?
— The All-Russian Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence is included in the “List of Olympiads and other intellectual and (or) creative competitions, events aimed at developing intellectual and creative abilities, abilities for physical education and sports, interest in scientific (research), engineering and technical, inventive, creative, physical culture and sports activities, as well as to promote scientific knowledge, creative and sports achievements, for the 2021/22 academic year, approved by order of the Ministry of Education of Russia dated May 31, 2022 No. 382.
