Caitlyn Jenner showed off her first campaign ad in her run to take over California Governor Gavin Newsom’s spot and revealed she wants to ‘save’ the state.

Caitlyn Jenner, 71, is letting people know “California is worth fighting for” in her very first political campaign ad. The former Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete is running to be the state’s next governor in a potential recall election against Governor Gavin Newsom this year and revealed her reasons for entering the race as well as her plans to make a difference in the new video, which she debuted on Good Morning America on May 4.

“WATCH: I came here with a dream 48 years ago to be the greatest athlete in the world. Now I enter a different kind of race, arguably my most important one yet, because California is worth fighting for!” she wrote in the caption for the tweet that shared the ad.

The video, which can be seen above, starts off showing Caitlyn walking through what appears to be her house before turning to go into her massive closet. A voice from what sounds like a newscast is announcing her plans to run for California governor in the background as she takes out a box of her Olympic medal from a safe and looks at it. Clips of moments in California are then shown as she talks over them and calls herself a “compassionate disrupter” fighting against the “elitist” politicians.

“The American Dream grew up here, yet career politicians and their policies have destroyed that dream,” she says in the three-minute ad. “I came here with a dream 48 years ago, to be the greatest athlete in the world,” she says over clips of her as athlete in the 1970s interspliced with present-day footage. “Now I enter a different kind of race, arguably my most important one yet: to save California.”

Caitlyn’s ad comes after news of her run for governor first made headlines on Apr. 23. She is known for being a devoted Republican, and identifies as “economically conservative, socially progressive.” After initially supporting former Republican President Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election, she revoked the support in 2018 due to his administration’s attacks on the transgender community.

Caitlyn, who came out publicly as a transgender woman in 2015, is running against Governor Newsom at a time he’s recently come under fire for his conflicting regulations and restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. In her ad, she also states that she wants “to carry the torch for the parents who had to balance work and their child’s education, for business owners who are forced to shut down, for pastors who are not able to be with their congregation, for the family who lost their home in a fire, for an entire generation of students who lost a year of education.”

Two days before her campaign ad debuted, Caitlyn made headlines for telling paparazzi that she “opposes” trans girls participating in female sports at schools because she feels it “isn’t fair” for “biological boys” to be going up against biological girls. “It just isn’t fair. And we have to protect girls’ sports in our schools,” she said.

Caitlyn Jenner confirmed that she’s “clear” where she “stands” on the issue of trans girls competing in female sports, and Twitter accuses her of doing ‘harm.’

Caitlyn Jenner, 71, says “biological boys” who are trans competing on “girls’ sports” teams isn’t “fair.” The reality star, who was born Bruce Jenner before transitioning in 2015, made the comments while grabbing a Starbucks coffee on Saturday, May 1. “This is a question of fairness. That’s why I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls’ sports in school,” she explained to TMZ‘s cameras on Saturday, May 1. “It just isn’t fair. And we have to protect girls’ sports in our schools,” she added, putting her dog in the car. Caitlyn is a renowned athlete herself, winning a gold medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, Canada in decathlon.

Caitlyn, who is seeking to become governor of California as a Republican against current democratic Governor Gavin Newsom in a recall election, was then asked if this “delegitimizes” the “identity” of trans children. Caitlyn declined to answer the question, quipping “have a good day” as she got into her SUV. Later that day, she backed up her earlier statement with a tweet. “I didn’t expect to get asked this on my Saturday morning coffee run, but I’m clear about where I stand. It’s an issue of fairness and we need to protect girls’ sports in our schools,” the father of Kendall and Kylie Jenner wrote.

Twitter reacted to Caitlyn Jenner’s comments on Saturday, May 1. (Twitter)

Twitter immediately reacted to Caitlyn’s comments. “@Caitlyn_Jenner You are such a traitor…So we need to ‘protect girls sports’ from other girls now? And fairness? Don’t you know how testosterone blockers work?” one person wrote. “Girls belong in girls sports. Trans girls are girls. There is NO evidence of trans girls outperforming their cis peers. There is only evidence of them being harassed and harmed by their peers. Drop this, develop your hobbies and spend your time NOT doing harm to trans people,” another posted.

In response Caitlyn’s stance, both GLAAD and National Center for Transgender Equality Action Fund have issued statements to HollywoodLife. “Caitlyn Jenner’s views do not represent the transgender and gender nonconforming community,” GLAAD spokesperson Serena Sonoma tells HL EXCLUSIVELY. “Every major medical association, as well as hundreds of athletes at all levels, support letting trans kids play and are opposed to these harmful bills. Recent polling shows the majority of Americans also oppose anti-transgender laws, across party lines. It’s unfortunate and baffling that anyone would target the most vulnerable among us to court voters, rather than focus on real threats like COVID, lack of access to healthcare, education and discrimination. Jenner’s support of anti-trans laws only serve to aid lawmakers attacking transgender people and youth,” they also said.

The National Center for Transgender Equality Action Fund echoed the same sentiment, calling Caitlyn’s opinion “wrong” about the “danger” of these bans. “Transgender people aren’t a monolith, and like every community there are members with different opinions. Jenner is wrong about the danger and harmfulness of these anti-transgender bans,” Deputy Executive Director Rodrigo Heng-Lehtinen said to HollywoodLife. “We all care about fairness, and that’s why athletic conferences, school districts and states have policies in place to make sure that kids are treated fairly,” they added, noting it is “important” for transgender people to run for public office and “break down barriers.”

“It’s reassuring to know that the NCAA has looked into this and determined that transgender people can safely play sports. They are experts on athletics, and they support transgender student-athletes. It can be helpful to remember that these bans aren’t about elite athletes,” the NCTE Action Fund also said. “They are about the ninth grader who wants to play on the JV volleyball team. They’re about the teenager who wants to play on the same team as their friends after school. Bans like this single them out for harassment. Adults are at our best when helping youth to learn and thrive, not putting a target on their backs.”

Caitlyn filed paperwork to run for governor of California on April 23, launching a gubernatorial campaign. “California has been my home for nearly 50 years,” her mission statement, shared to social media, read. The announcement came after she said she would never run.

Alyssa Milano took to TikTok on April 28 to take a stand against an on-line troll who accused her of being a ‘washed up actress’ using political activism to try and stay ‘important.’

Alyssa Milano, 48, posted a video on TikTok Wednesday, in response to a comment from a user saying, “sad how a washed-up actress is still trying to be important.” Alyssa captioned her video: “This ‘washed-up actress’ has something to say.”

The Charmed alum began her video by pointing to the comment, in the upper corner of her screen, and saying, “See these? I get a lot of those. Usually, it comes from people who identify as a different political party than I do.”

— wilder (@wilderfortruth) April 29, 2021

She continued, “You see, I identify with the party who believes in equality and equity and opportunity for everyone, and also the party who fights for the most vulnerable and the marginalized communities.”

The best part of the video came when Alyssa clapped back at being called “washed up” and said, “Just because you say something to be hurtful, it doesn’t make it true. I have consistently worked since I was 7 years old, and you can just f— off now and move along.”

Alyssa got her start in showbiz at age 7 when she landed a role of an orphan in the first national tour of the stage play Annie. Shortly after that she landed parts in multiple off-Broadway productions and television commercials.

But, it was her role as Tony Danza‘s daughter on the sitcom Who’s the Boss? that catapulted her to mega-stardom in the early 1980’s. Then came iconic roles on Melrose Place and Charmed, cementing her status as a queen of the small screen.

In 2009 she married to CAA agent David Bugliari. They have two children together — daughter Elizabella, 6, and son, Milo, 9.

In recent years Alyssa has become known as much for her activism as her acting. She has been a powerful voice in support of the #MeToo movement and an outspoken opponent of Donald Trump and the Republican party.

Earlier this week she even lent her voice to those taking aim at Caitlyn Jenner over her run for governor of California in a potential 2021 recall election.

The former Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is a lifelong Republican, and Alyssa was quick to point out the irony.  “You are running as a Republican?! Republicans deny your existence and are trying to erase trans youth,” she tweeted.

Stars like George Takei and Alyssa Milano have reacted to the news that lifelong Republican Caitlyn Jenner is running for governor of California. See the tweets.

Former Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Caitlyn Jenner has officially filed paperwork to run for governor of California in a potential 2021 recall election. The 71-year-old is a lifelong Republican, and members of the LGBTQ+ community were quick to take to social media, saying they won’t back her “vanity campaign.” Star Wars actor George Takei, who is gay, compared her standing in the LGBTQ community to that of conservative pundit Candace Owens‘ reputation in the Black community. “Black people wouldn’t vote for Candace Owen for office. The disabled community wouldn’t vote for Madison Cawthorn,” he tweeted. “I’m LGBTQ but I won’t be voting for Caitlyn Jenner. Just so we’re clear.”

Running under the slogan ‘Caitlyn For California‘, she is yet to confirm whether she is running as a Republican or as an Independent, however she is reportedly already surrounding herself with a team of Donald Trump‘s former aides. CNN reported she was taking advice from ex Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale, ahead of her potential California gubernatorial bid. “The support for this campaign has been amazing nationwide,” Caitlyn captioned an IG post, one day after revealing the big news. Nevertheless, the phrase “HELL NO” began trending soon after her announcement.

With all due respect, @Caitlyn_Jenner, you are running as a Republican?! Republicans deny your existence and are trying to erase trans youth. HELL NO. https://t.co/tUiBHTqZ0P

— Alyssa Milano (@Alyssa_Milano) April 23, 2021

Transgender activist Charlotte Clymer slammed the reality star’s run as a “vanity campaign” that would allow transphobia to proliferate. “Caitlyn Jenner is a deeply unqualified hack who doesn’t care about anyone but herself,” Charlotte wrote. “Her views are terrible. She is a horrible candidate.” She later added, “Caitlyn Jenner has no real support. I don’t care about her candidacy. I do care about the ways in which her asinine views will be weaponized against trans people and the ways in which transphobia will go unchecked … This is purely a vanity campaign, and it’s incredibly selfish.”

Appropriate response: Caitlyn Jenner is a deeply unqualified hack who doesn't care about anyone but herself. Her views are terrible. She is a horrible candidate.

Inappropriate response: [Misgendering Caitlyn Jenner because you think transphobia is okay here. It's not.]

Even actress Alyssa Milano weighed in, tweeting, “You are running as a Republican?! Republicans deny your existence and are trying to erase trans youth.” At the same time that she filed her paperwork, Caitlyn her campaign website, and revealed her mission statement. “California has been my home for nearly 50 years,” the statement read. “I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality. With CA Governor Gavin Newsom facing a recall election, Caitlyn Jenner is reportedly considering running against him.

Kanye West didn’t make it to the White House, but California could see Caitlyn Jenner in the Governor’s Mansion. The former Keeping Up With The Kardashians star is reportedly speaking with political consultants to possibly launch a bid for governor of California, according to sources who spoke with Axios. The potential run comes as Governor Gavin Newsom faces a recall election, with Republicans angry about his his immigration and tax policies.

Caitlyn, a lifelong Republican and former Trump supporter, is reportedly being assisted by GOP fundraiser Caroline Wren, per Axios. The women previously through their work with the American Unity Fund, a nonprofit focused on LGBTQ+ issues. Caroline also worked at Trump Victory, a fundraising campaign for President Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign. Additionally, she helped organize the rally that immediately preceded the January 6 Capitol siege by his supporters.

The Olympian said in early 2021 that she would not consider running against Governor Newsom, however. “Caitlyn is not running for governor, has never considered running for governor and is very happy doing the work that she is doing to promote LGBT rights and spending time with her 18 grandchildren and 10 children,” Caitlyn’s rep said in a statement.

But Caitlyn has made her political ambitions known in the past. The Secrets of My Life author said in 2017 that she has considered running for Senate in California. “I have considered it,” Caitlyn said on Cat’s Roundtable. “I like the political side of it. If there’s one thing — I work very closely with the American Unity Fund — that their sole purpose, their mission statement is to get the Republican party to do a better job with all LGBT issues.”

“Can I do a better job from the outside?” she continued. “Kind of working the perimeter of the political scene, being open to talking to anybody? Or are you better from the inside, and we are in the process of determining that. Yeah, but I would look for a senatorial run.”

Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and their sisters got super competitive in a new clip from ‘KUWTK.’

The Kardashian and Jenner sisters are incredibly competitive, and that was clear in the latest clip from the final season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. In the latest preview clip for the reality TV series, Kim and Khloe Kardashian teamed up against Kendall and Kylie Jenner for a sisterly game of volleyball. However, there’d already been some intense smack-talking. “Like, I actually know how to play volleyball,” Kendall could be heard saying under her breath to sister Kylie, as Kim and Khloe got warmed up.

“This is very hard to watch,” Kylie agreed. Kendall kept going, telling her two big sisters that watching them play volleyball was “embarrassing.” The tension between the four sisters became a lot clearer when Kim and Khloe opened up in their own confessional. “As siblings, we’re always competitive,” Kim told the camera. “But Kendall has been talking a lot about how the Jenners are genetically gifted and this is something that makes my blood boil,” she admitted.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner talk strategy in a new clip from ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ [E!].A flashback featured Kendall telling Khloe that after getting a “blood test” she was told that she’s “super athletic.” Khloe tried to tell her little sister that she was also pretty gifted when it comes to fitness and athleticism as well, to which Kendall questioned her, “are you though?” As such, Khloe and Kim were ready to bring it. “We are the true athletes here,” Kim said.

As Kendall and Kylie got their game plan ready, the clip cut to footage of the two sisters doing cheerleading, snowboarding, and more. They even gushed about Caitlyn Jenner, whom they credited for their athleticism. “My dad just always had so much faith in Kylie and I when it came to being athletic,” Kendall said. “We grew up daddy’s girls with those Olympic genes. The Jenners, we just have it in us.”

Kim Kardashian lunges for a volleyball in a new clip from ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ [E!].What ensued after Kendall’s confessional was a montage of the sisters running, lunging, and receiving the volleyball over the net. Each time, however, it looked as though Kim and Khloe somehow had the upper hand on the play! It looks like this will be a fun-filled episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. So, are you team Kim and Khloe, or team Kylie and Kendall?

Kris Jenner once engaged in ‘hanky panky’ with Caitlyn in the ’90s, while a 10-year-old Khloe Kardashian was under the bed. The incident left her ‘traumatized.’

Kris and Caitlyn Jenner once had “hanky-panky” while Khloe Kardashian was under their bed. Yes, you read that right. The incident that “traumatized” Kris happened in the ’90s, while she was still married to Caitlyn; her daughter, Khloe, was still a kid. Khloe and her friend were playing hide and seek one ill-fated evening, and Kris unraveled the rest of the awkward memory while appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on March 24.

“They hid under my bed and stayed there for a really long time and in the meantime, Bruce — at the time — and I came into the bed and went to sleep,” Kris explained, referring to Caitlyn’s name before she transitioned. They didn’t go to sleep right away, though. Kris revealed that she and her ex “had a little bit of hanky panky” while “the kids were still under the bed” (unbeknownst to them at the time, of course).

While Kris couldn’t elaborate, given that she was speaking on a daytime talk show, it’s safe to presume that she meant sex. “That was traumatizing,” Kris admitted. She added, “I’m sure [Khloe] didn’t bring that up because she has PTSD over that one.”

Ellen pressed Kris for more details — when did Kris and Caitlyn realize they had unwelcome bedroom visitors? “Well they were so scared, they stayed there for hours and in the middle of the night, when they were sure we were both asleep, they snuck out and we caught them sneaking out,” Kris recalled, clearly amused. While she called the situation “awful,” she did admit that the scenario was mostly traumatizing for herself! “They couldn’t have possibly known what we were doing, but I think as they got older they figured it out,” Kris admitted.

Kris did a good job at scaring Khloe from having sex, “between that” (the bedroom incident, that is) and one other thing. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians executive producer was referring to the sex talks that she had with a much younger Khloe, which Kris’s daughter discussed on the ELLEN digital series Lady Parts earlier in March.

“I was so afraid of getting pregnant. I mean, my parents would scare the s–t out of me and would show me like, ‘This is herpes,’ and would show me photos,” Khloe told host Sarah Hyland on the ELLEN series. The Good American co-founder added, “I had to look at all these visuals and if I had sex, that was going to happen to me.” At least Khloe survived all those sex-related scares!

Kylie Jenner’s new lip oil restocks on Feb. 12! To make the big announcement, the cosmetics mogul swiped it on her lips while rocking a blush-pink strapless top and mermaid waves.

Kylie Jenner, 23, looked like a mermaid that just emerged from a Malibu beach in a pink strapless bra top with glistening lips and long waves. The makeup mogul’s shiny pout was courtesy of her new lip oil, which will be restocking on Kylie Skin’s website at 9 a.m. PST on Feb. 12. “Yay!!! my lip oil finally restocks TOMORROW!! this is definitely my most hydrating lip product yet!,” Kylie happily captioned the selfie below.

Kylie continued to rave over her new cosmetics product, which had its first release on Jan. 19. “I’m obsessed with the applicator and the glossy finish. it truly feels amazing on the lips,” she added. The ultra-moisturizing, dermatologist-tested lip product delivers extra hydration through coconut oil and Vitamin E, and is even built with “Lip Plump Complex.”

Kylie is always brainstorming cute — and often sexy — ways to promote her products. On another occasion, the entrepreneur threw on a blue bikini and lathered on Kylie Skin’s SPF Body Oil to film a poolside video, which she posted on Feb. 5. You can check out that clip, and more posts of the KarJenners rocking bikinis, here.

As expected of someone running multiple beauty brands, Kylie’s the go-to makeup expert in the KarJenner family. She has even filmed herself giving makeovers to Kim Kardashian and her parents, Kris Jenner and Caitlyn Jenner.

Caitlyn was the latest person to sit in Kylie’s makeup chair, and the Olympic gold medalist was excited to receive her first ever makeover from her youngest daughter. “My little Kylie is going to do my makeup! I’m so excited, she’s never done it before…my little baby — I used to change her diapers! This is her office,” Caitlyn gushed during the YouTube video that Kylie posted on Feb. 6. It’s no surprise that being a MUA comes naturally to Kylie, who launched her Kylie Lip Kits at just 18 years old in 2015, which eventually turned into Kylie Cosmetics. She then expanded her beauty empire with Kylie Skin in May of 2019.

Kylie Jenner confessed that her daughter Stormi is ‘super athletic’ just like Caitlyn in this sweet YouTube video!

Kylie Jenner, 23, and dad Caitlyn Jenner, 71, have an unbreakable bond! The makeup mogul did Caitlyn’s makeup for the first time in a sweet new YouTube video posted on Saturday, Feb. 6. Kylie, of course, is a cosmetics wizard — and even joked she was going to be “charging” her Olympic medal winning pops. “So prepare yourself — it’s going to be really expensive,” she said as her dad got settled. “You’re charging?” Caitlyn hilariously replied.

The moment was full circle for the I Am Cait star, who got emotional on camera before entering the makeup room. “My little Kylie is going to do my makeup! I’m so excited, she’s never done it before…my little baby — I used to change her diapers! This is her office,” she said, clearly so proud of Kylie’s accomplishments! The 23-year-old launched Kylie Cosmetics with just three lip kits back in Nov. 2015, and has since expanded offerings to include various themed collections with glosses, eye shadow palettes, concealers and more.

During the 15 minute video, Kylie and Caitlyn also talked about the decision to still call Cait “Dad” — even after her 2015 transition from Bruce. “I know we had a talk about it a few years ago and you were still okay with [Kendall and I] calling you ‘dad’ — how do you feel about that now?” Kylie asked. “It was one of the best decisions I ever made,” Cait confessed. “I felt like I had to do it my way…I’m a dad, I’ve been a dad the whole way — I will be their father until the day I say,” she added.

It was so sweet to see the duo have a candid conversation about their paths in recent years. “I was so supportive of you [during the transition],” Kylie said at one point, saying she just wanted her dad to “be free and live.” Cait echoed that “getting up in the morning” and “being able to be yourself all day” made her feel “so fortunate” after “sneaking around” over the years. Caitlyn and Kylie’s relationship was only strengthened by the birth of little Stormi, 3, in 2018. “Is little Stormi into the makeup yet? Caitlyn asked, as Kylie confessed that her daughter is actually “very athletic” — just like her “Boom Boom” (what Stormi calls Caitlyn).

Caitlyn even reflected back on when Kylie was born — way back in August 1997! “You know the first thing I said to your mom [Kris Jenner] when you popped out?” he began. “You hadn’t even come out of the womb — your little head popped out and I was down there helping doctors get you out, and when you looked up at me, you looked exactly like Kendall,” who was born two years earlier in 1995. “Then I said, ‘Oh my god! We just did this.” So sweet!

Caitlyn Jenner is reportedly one of the top choices for a cameo in the upcoming ‘Sex and the City’ revival after bosses have been looking for ways to make the show more ‘diverse’.

Sex and the City fans may be seeing Caitlyn Jenner, 71, on their screens soon. The transgender icon is at the top of the list for a cameo role in the popular show’s future reboot, according to The Mirror. The outlet claims the consideration is there because the people in charge are trying to make the show more diverse after the original series and films were criticized for not being inclusive.

“Caitlyn has been a media fixture in one way or another for going on 50 years. She’s really perfect for an appearance,” a source told the outlet. “They want new faces for the show, but they want people viewers actually know and care about too.”

The news about Caitlyn comes a week after the Sex and the City revival was announced. The exciting new installment, which is taking place over 20 years since the original series debuted, will feature ten episodes on HBO Max and will feature three of the four actresses, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis. Sarah confirmed that Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones on the series, will not be returning for the revival but also revealed there’s no hard feelings between them.

“No. I don’t dislike her. I’ve never said that. Never would. Samantha isn’t part of this story. But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do,” she wrote in response to a fan who brought Kim up on Instagram.

The original Sex and the City series ran for six seasons with a total of 94 episodes from 1998 until 2004 and was followed up with two feature films in 2008 and 2010. All four ladies from the show reunited in Apr. 2020 to celebrate New York’s healthcare workers amid the COVID-19 pandemic and although rumors about a third movie started to swirl, they turned out not to be true. “There will be no progress on a third Sex And The City with the ladies because there is still lots of animosity between them all,” an insider EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife at the time.

“Kim has moved on and is very excited for her new FOX show and sees her career taking a completely different look moving forward,” the insider continued. “There were wonderful times and not so wonderful times with Sex and the same issues still stand between Kim and Sarah so it is best to leave the past the past. They all know they will forever be linked to the show and each other but they also know when it is time to move on and now is that time.”

Almost a year later, it’s great to know things have changed and at least three of the ladies are back on board!
