Willow Smith performed on ‘SNL’ with Camila Cabello on the April 9 episode, just one week after the show included comedic sketches about her dad Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars.

Willow Smith, 21, is “focusing” on her music and not bothered by Saturday Night Live‘s recent comedy sketches about her father. The singer gave an incredible performance along with Camila Cabello for the duo’s song “Psychofreak” on the April 9th episode of the live series, which took place one week after the show included several comedic scenes about Will Smith‘s infamous slap at the Oscars. It turns out the talented artist was only focusing on what she had to do on stage that night and wasn’t “worried” about whether or not the show would include even more sketches about the slap in the episode she was in.

“Willow Smith was completely focused on her performance with Camila Cabello and not worried whatsoever about if the show was going to make fun of her Dad or family over the Oscar incident,” a source EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife. “They made fun of it the week before so if she was really upset, she would have never showed up in the first place. It was important to share the stage with Camila because she loves the song and she really feels they killed it. She is so happy eyeballs were put on the performance and that they rocked it, it was a very special and fun moment.”

Before Willow rocked the SNL stage, she got attention for posting a cryptic message just two days after Will made headlines for slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars after the comedian made a joke about his wife and Willow’s mom, Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s shaved head. “You know who’s going through a lot right now? Literally everyone. Just be kind,” the message, which was originally posted by author Jay Shetty, read.
Like Willow, Jada, who suffers from alopecia, also posted a cryptic message on the same day that read, “This is a season for healing, and I’m here for it.”

The day before, just one day after the Oscars, Will released his own statement that included an apology to Chris and anyone else he hurt by his actions. Since then, he resigned from The Academy and was banned from future Oscars ceremonies for the next 10 years.

Chris Rock reportedly told a live audience he’s ‘OK’ and ‘life is good’ but he’s not talking about the moment Will Smith shockingly slapped him on stage at the Oscars until he’s compensated.

Chris Rock, 57, has feelings about Will Smith slapping him after a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s saved head at the Oscars, but he’s not going public with them until he gets money for it. The comedian had a comedy show in Indio, CA on April 8, and told the audience he’s doing “OK” after the headline-making incident, which caused Will to be banned from attending the Academy Awards for 10 years, but he won’t talk about it until he gets “paid,” according to the Palm Desert Sun.

“I’m OK, I have a whole show, and I’m not talking about that until I get paid. Life is good. I got my hearing back,” he reportedly told the audience.

It’s not clear what Chris means by getting “paid,” but there are a lot of possibilities. He could very well be talking about giving an exclusive interview to a network. Although he’s most likely been approached by several to speak his thoughts, perhaps they weren’t offering enough. Another possibility is he’s planning a civil lawsuit against Will, which would give him an opportunity to be paid. It’s also very possible Chris is just joking and will eventually speak out when he’s ready.

Before his latest comedy gig, Chris spoke publicly for the first time since the slap at his comedy show in Boston, MA on March 30. At that time, he told the show attendees that he was “still processing” what happened. “I don’t have a bunch of s— about what happened,” he reportedly said, before revealing he already wrote his whole comedy show before the headline-making slap happened. “I had like a whole show I wrote before this weekend. I’m still kinda processing what happened. So at some point, I’ll talk about that s–. So I’m gonna tell some jokes It’s nice to be out.”

Chris also reportedly said he he wasn’t “going to address” it at all during a surprise appearance at the Comedy Cellar on April 5. “He literally only addressed it as the the crowd was going wild for his surprise appearance, and he got on stage and said, ‘Lower your expectations. I’m not going to address that s–t,’” an audience member told Page Six.

Shortly after the slap, which took place on March 27, Will released a statement that included an apology to Chris and all the people he affected. He’s since resigned from The Academy and “accepted and respected” The Academy’s decision to ban him from the annual ceremony for 10 years.

The two graced Studio 8H with her presence on the April 9th episode, hosted by Jake Gyllenhaal as they brought the house down with their hot new single “Psychofreak.” Camila has previously declared the track was about her split from Fifth Harmony — and she certainly sang with passion as Willow sang along and supported with guitar.

Meanwhile, Willow sang about her individuality — delivering a strong stage presence throughout the performance. “Wish I could be like everyone…But I’m not like anyone,” she sang.

Camila stunned in a black latex episode with red gloves, complimenting Willow’s orange blazer crop top and mini skirt. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith‘s daughter paired the two piece ensemble with tights and chunky boots. The live appearance marks Willow’s first since dad Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars. After the incident, Willow, 21, attended the Vanity Fair Oscar Party with her family.

Camila also sang her new tune “Bam Bam” featuring Ed Sheeran with a colorful display of backup dancers. Camila and her ex-boyfriend Shawn Mendes‘ break-up was a surprise no one saw coming — and the pair are certainly playing out their feelings through music. The Fifth Harmony alum and Canadian singer, 23, linked up romantically in 2019 after collaborating on “Senorita” — but announced they were going their separate ways in Nov. 2021 after over two years together.

“Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever we started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends,” they wrote in a joint statement shared to social media on November 18. “We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward. Camila and Shawn,” they signed off.

Shawn recently released his break-up themed tune “When You’re Gone,” which he wrote just a month after splitting with the Cuban-American beauty. “I wrote this song about a month after Camila and I broke up… A month later, you kind of start having all the memories of things that happened, and all the memories of so many amazing things….And I was writing about that,” he explained to Extra.

The Academy has decided that Will Smith can’t go to the Oscars for the next ten years as consequence for slapping Chris Rock on stage.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have settled on consequences for Will Smith, 53, over the viral slap. Due to hitting Chris Rock, 57, in the face on stage at the 2022 Oscars, the King Richard star cannot attend any events hosted by The Academy, including the Oscars, for the next ten years. “The Board has decided, for a period of 10 years from April 8, 2022, Mr. Smith shall not be permitted to attend any Academy events or programs, in person or virtually, including but not limited to the Academy Awards,” AMPAS President David Rubin and CEO Dawn Hudson said in a statement.

The Academy also called Will’s actions at the March 27 ceremony “unacceptable and harmful behavior.” The statement continued, “We want to express our deep gratitude to Mr. Rock for maintaining his composure under extraordinary circumstances. We also want to thank our hosts, nominees, presenters and winners for their poise and grace during our telecast. This action we are taking today in response to Will Smith’s behavior is a step toward a larger goal of protecting the safety of our performers and guests, and restoring trust in the Academy. We also hope this can begin a time of healing and restoration for all involved and impacted.”

At the 94th Annual Academy Awards, Chris made a joke about Will’s wife Jada Pinkett-Smith’s bald head while referencing G.I. Jane. “Jada, can’t wait for G.I. Jane 2!” Chris quipped. Will laughed at first, but Jada — who suffers from alopecia, an autoimmune disorder causing hair loss — wasn’t thrilled about the joke. Just moments later, Will went up on stage and slapped the iconic comedian across the face. He also hurled expletives at Chris once returning to his seat. “Keep my wife’s name out your f***ing mouth,” Will said. Denzel Washington and Bradley Cooper were quick to console Will after the heated moment.

Will ended up winning the Oscar for Best Actor not long after the on-air altercation. He apologized to the Academy and his fellow nominees for his actions, but did not apologize to Chris whatsoever. “Art imitates life. I look like the crazy father just like they said about Richard Williams. Love will make you do crazy things,” he said in his speech. The day after the Oscars, after The Academy announced they were doing a “formal review” into the incident, Will issued a public apology.

“My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable,” he wrote on Instagram. “Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.” Will also publicly apologized to the Everybody Hates Chris actor. “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris,” he added. “I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”

Chris has reportedly declined to press charges against Will for the slap.

The actor was accepting of the decade-long ban from attending Academy events in light of the slapping incident at the Oscars.

Will Smith, 53, issued a short and simple statement following the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ decision to ban him from all Academy-related events (including the Oscars) for the next 10 years, because he ran onstage and slapped Chris Rock, 57, during the 2022 Academy Awards. “I accept and respect the Academy’s decision,” he said in a very short statement on Friday April 8 to Page Six

Will’s response came shortly after the Academy announced the plan to bar him from all Academy events for the next decade.

The 10-year ban is only the most recent consequence of the “slap heard ’round the world.” The Academy had announced that it would begin a formal investigation and review of the incident shortly after the award show. Will was also given the opportunity to explain himself during a 30-minute Zoom call with Academy members on March 31. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star reportedly apologized during the discussion. Will resigned from the Academy the following day. “I betrayed the trust of the Academy. I deprived other nominees and winners of their opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated for their extraordinary work. I am heartbroken,” he said. A few of Will’s projects were also put on hold in light of the incident, including Bad Boys 4.

In the immediate aftermath of the slapping incident, Will did apologize to the Academy and his fellow nominees on-stage when he accepted his Best Actor win for his performance in King Richard. He offered a formal apology to Chris the day after the show on Instagram. “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness,” he wrote.

As for Chris, the comic hasn’t spoken much about the incident since it happened. At his first comedy show in Boston following the Oscars, he told the audience that he was “still kinda processing” the incident and didn’t address it much further. During a drop-in at New York City’s Comedy Cellar on Tuesday, Chris told the audience to “lower your expectations” and that he wouldn’t be joking about it. A source close to the comedian revealed to HollywoodLife exclusively that he was still working through what happened. “Chris Rock doesn’t want the Will Smith slap to define him and the rest of his career. It sucks that it is now part of his life forever,” they said. “He doesn’t know when he will talk about it, he knows he will have to at some point, but he literally is focusing on his tour and for the dust to fully settle.”

Kenny Rock called for the Academy to take away Will Smith’s Oscar in light of the the slapping incident, after his brother joked about Jada Pinkett-Smith’s bald look.

Chris Rock‘s younger brother Kenny defended the comedian more after the “slap heard ’round the world” when Will Smith rushed the stage at the 2022 Academy Awards and slapped him after Chris jokingly compared Jada Pinkett-Smith to the movie G.I. Jane. Kenny reiterated that Chris didn’t know that Jada suffered from alopecia in an interview with Los Angeles Times published on Monday April 4.

Kenny said that he felt like his brother’s joke was “funny,” but he wouldn’t have touched it, if he knew that she had the condition. “It wasn’t hilarious funny, but I know that if he knew that she had alopecia,” he explained. “He wouldn’t make a joke about that. But he didn’t know.” Shortly after the viral moment at the show on March 27, a source close to Chris had told TMZ that he didn’t know that she had alopecia.

In wake of the slapping incident, Will had issued a public apology to Chris, and he also resigned from the Academy. “The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home,” he said in a statement. “I betrayed the trust of the Academy. I deprived other nominees and winners of their opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated for their extraordinary work. I am heartbroken.”

Despite Will’s apology and resignation, Kenny called for his Oscar to be taken away from him. “I might have looked at it differently had he initially apologized when he got on the stage and cried and accepted the award, but he didn’t, so, right there that tells me that it is something else,” he told The Times.

Kenny isn’t the only of Chris’ brothers to call out The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star. His other brother Tony, who is also a comic, started one of his comedy shows, joking about the incident, warning audience members not to get any ideas about rushing the stage. “You want to hit my brother?” he quipped. “I didn’t want to start the show like that but I just want to let y’all know, that ain’t gonna ride. I don’t got a lot to lose.”

Chris Rock’s brother Tony Rock made a jab at Will Smith’s Oscar slap, joking that Chris must have been ‘nominated for these hands.’

Another Rock has spoken out regarding Slapgate; Chris Rock‘s brother, Tony Rock. Defending the most infamous moments of the Oscars 2022, when Will Smith slapped Chris across the face after a joke he made about Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s hair. The slap heard around the world has continued to cause reverberations, and Tony didn’t hold back when he discussed the moment in a new stand-up routine.

In the clip posted to YouTube, Tony jokes to a substantial crowd that if they don’t like what he has to say onstage, they have one option of what to do: absolutely nothing. “If you think you’re gonna walk up on this stage,” he said, “this ain’t the Oscars. If you walk your a** up here, you ain’t nominated for s**t but these hands!” The quip clearly skewered the moment when Will laid his own hands on Chris, which had Will’s family speaking out in support and certain pearl-clutching Oscar hosts claiming their own trauma from simply witnessing the moment.

As the audience erupted in cheers while Tony strutted the stage in an orange jacket and white graphic tee, he made it clear he’s 100% on Team Chris, just like the rest of his brothers. “You want to hit my brother?” he questioned. “Oh there’s a lot of Rock brothers, there’s 10 Rock brothers, there’s a lot of us.” He continued: “I didn’t want to start the show like that but I just want to let y’all know, that ain’t gonna ride. I don’t got a lot to lose.”

The entire ordeal began during the Oscars last Sunday night, where Chris hosted and Will was nominated for (and eventually won) a Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Richard Williams in King Richard. As Chris presented the award for Best Documentary feature, he made a remark about Jada’s bald head (the actress suffers from alopecia, a condition that results in hair loss.) Chris’ joke immediately had Will headed to the stage, with nothing to say but a direct and shocking slap across the face that sent Chris stumbling. As he returned to his seat, he shouted: “Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth.”

Though Chris chose not to press charges during the incident after the LAPD initiated an assault investigation, the backlash against Will was swift, and he recently announced he would be resigning his membership from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences due to the incident. In a statement, he shared: “The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home. Diddy and Yung Miami’s latest outing together comes after they sparked romance rumors when they were spotted holding hands last year and rang in the new year together in late Dec./early Jan. A few weeks before that, she denied they were more than friends, but their repeated hangouts definitely still have people talking.

If the duo is romantically involved, it seems Diddy’s not ready to announce it to the world. He attended the Academy Awards last weekend and brought his 16-year-old daughter Chance as his date. The sweet father and daughter posed for adorable photos on the red carpet of the big film event and were all smiles while showing off their fashion choices for the night.

The doting dad looked handsome in a classic tux at the event while Chance looked stylish in a white dress with short flared out sleeves. Diddy proudly looked on as the teen posed for some pics while standing in front of him and it was one of the most memorable moments of the entire Oscars red carpet.

In addition to making headlines for bringing Chance, Diddy also got attention when he commented about the Will Smith and Chris Rock slapping incident at Vanity Fair’s Oscar party. The talented star said that the feud between the two men was “over,” in an interview with Page Six. “It’s all love. They’re brothers,” he said.

Denzel Washington attended a leadership summit on Saturday and shared more details about the advice he gave Will Smith after the actor slapped Chris Rock for making a joke about his wife at the Oscars.

Denzel Washington, 67, is recalling the conversation he had with Will Smith, 53, after the shocking slapping incident involving Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards. The actor made an appearance at author and bishop T.D. Jakes’ leadership summit to discuss his career and faith on the morning of Apr. 2, and was asked about the headline-making news as well as the advice he gave Will, which was mentioned during his Oscar acceptance speech.

“Well, there’s a saying, ‘When the devil ignores you, then you know you’re doing something wrong.’ The devil goes, ‘Oh no, leave him alone, he’s my favorite.’ Conversely, when the devil comes at you, maybe it’s because he’s trying to do something right. And for whatever reason the devil got ahold of that circumstance that night,” Denzel said while on stage at the summit, according to Variety.

Denzel is one of a few people, which included Tyler Perry and Will’s publicist, who spoke to Will right after he walked up on stage and slapped Chris for making a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s shaved head. The King Richard star thanked Denzel for telling him, “at your highest moment, be careful, that’s when the devil comes for you” while accepting the honor of Best Actor just moments later.

“Fortunately there were people there. Not just me, but others, Tyler Perry, came immediately right over there with me. [Said] some prayers,” Denzel also reportedly said at the summit. “I don’t wanna say what we talked about, but there but for the grace of God go any of us. Who are we to condemn? I don’t know all the ins and outs of the situation, but I know the only solution was prayer, the way I see it.”

As reports surfaced that Will Smith met with senior Academy Members, the Oscars producer says LAPD were ready to arrest the actor.

Will Smith has reportedly apologized to The Oscars for slapping Chris Rock. The apology happened during 30 minute Zoom call with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences earlier this week, CNN tweeted, adding that the Academy also “heard him out.” The organization responded by saying his “actions would have consequences.” HollywoodLife has reached out to The Academy for comment.

The producer of the Oscars, Will Packer, has also spoken out — saying that the Los Angeles Police Department was ready to arrest Smith after the unexpected incident. “[Police] said, ‘We will go get him, we are prepared. We can go get him right now…you can press charges, we can arrest him,’ — they were laying out the options,” Packer said in a preview clip in his Good Morning America interview, set to air on Friday, April 1.

“As they were talking, Chris was being very dismissive of those options. He was like, ‘I’m fine’, saying ‘no, no, no’…I said Rock, let them finish,” Packer explained. “They said, ‘would you like us to take any action?’ and [Rock] said ‘no.” Packer also said that he did not speak to Will directly during the Broadcast, as some reports previously indicated.

Whether or not Smith was asked to leave after the slap — which happened after Rock made an inappropriate joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s bald head, which is as a result of alopecia — remains unclear. The Academy stated on March 30th that they did ask Smith to leave, with reports saying that the request came from Academy President David Rubin and Academy CEO Dawn Hudson. Conflicting reports emerged on March 31, however, that Will was not asked to leave directly — but rather, a heated conversation took place backstage with his representatives.

Bradley Cooper stepped out for a low key walk in the Big Apple as headlines continue about the drama between Will Smith and Chris Rock.

Bradley Cooper has emerged since the Oscar drama between Will Smith and  Chris Rock. The 47-year-old actor, who was seen intensely talking to Will shortly after he slapped Chris on-stage, stepped out for a low key walk in New York City on Wednesday, March 30. Bradley was casually dressed in a black zip-up windbreaker and black jeans for the solo stroll. The Hangover star finished his look with a pair of gray sneakers with red laces.

Bradley made headlines pertaining to Will’s unexpected violent reaction towards Rock on Oscar Sunday as he was one of the first to speak to the King Richard actor. The controversial slap occurred after Chris cracked a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith’s bald head, saying “G.I. Jane 2 — can’t wait to see it” (notably Demi Moore rocked a buzz cut for the G.I. Jane movie in the ’90s). The joke was inappropriate given Jada’s public battle with alopecia as a result of an auto-immune disease, which she’s discussed on her show Red Table Talk and on social media.

“Wow, dude,” Chris quipped on stage, evidently stunned by what just happened on national television. Instead of going to break, the show shockingly continued as Chris presented an award to Questlove for his documentary Summer of Soul.

During the commercial break, Will Smith is pulled aside and comforted by Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry, who motion for him to brush it off. As commercial break rolled around, several journalists and photographers were able to capture Will in conversation after the slap. Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry initially were seen talking to an emotional Will, per a video from The Hollywood Reporter’s Scott Feinberg who indicated that the two men seemed to be “comforted” by his friends. Shortly after, Bradley beelined towards Will and put both hands on his shoulders for a brief, but intense conversation that ended in a hug as the show was about to return to air. There’s no indication about what the Nightmare Alley star said to Will, who went on to win the Best Actor trophy for King Richard.

While there’s been shock and outrage that Will wasn’t removed from the Dolby Theatre, The Academy stated that they asked Will “to leave” but he “refused” in a statement on March 30. Notably, Will apologized for his behavior in his lengthy and emotional acceptance speech, as well as via social media.

Will Smith has apologized to Chris Rock for his ‘unacceptable and inexcusable’ behavior and said ‘there’s no place for violence’ after slapping him at the Oscars.

Will Smith has issued an apology for what has now become known as “the slap heard around the world.” After storming on stage and slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars, the King Richard actor has called his actions “inexcusable.” He wrote out a public apology to Chris and uploaded the text as a picture on Instagram. “Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive,” he started off his lengthy post.

He then stated how he let the emotions get the best of him during the 94th Annual Academy Awards. “My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable,” he continued. “Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.”

He then addressed the Everybody Hates Chris actor directly in the public eye for the first time since the slap. “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris,” he added. “I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”

He also apologized to “the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world” as well as “the Williams Family and my King Richard Family.” He concluded his apology by stating that he is a “work in progress.” In case you missed it or somehow didn’t hear about it on Twitter, the shocking slap happened when Chris Rock made a joke about Will’s wife Jada Pinkett-Smith’s bald head while referencing G.I. Jane. “Jada, can’t wait for G.I. Jane 2!” Chris quipped.

Amy Schumer shared that Kirsten Dunst knew about the seat filler joke and shared she ‘wouldn’t disrespect a queen’ by springing it on her unexpectedly.

Amy Schumer wants to reassure fans that her Oscars joke at Kirsten Dunst’s expense didn’t land as awkwardly as everyone thought. Kirsten may have sold the joke a little too well as Amy revealed that Kirsten was, in fact, in on the joke and knew it was going to happen ahead of time. The Trainwreck star shared that it wasn’t intended to make the Oscar nominee feel uncomfortable and that she’d never “disrespect” her like that.

“Hey I appreciate the love for Kirsten Dunst,” she wrote on her Instagram Story (via People). “I love her too! That was a choreographed bit she was in on.” She even proclaimed Kirsten as royalty while defending her own joke. “Wouldn’t disrespect that queen like that,” she added. Amy made the joke during a set about seat fillers. She explained that there are plenty of jobs at the Oscars including seat fillers, which she described as someone who fills a celebrity’s seat when they go to the bathroom.

The comedian then decided she would demonstrate an example of how seat fillers work. She approached Kirsten and her husband Jesse Plemons and pretended that Kirsten, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in The Power Of The Dog, was a seat filler. “OK, here’s a seat filler. Honey, do you want to go to the bathroom?” Amy asked.

Kirsten seemed to be caught off guard by the bit and stood up awkwardly off to the side as Amy took her seat. She got comfy and talked with Jesse about his role in the film. “You know that was my wife, Amy,” Jesse then said, addressing the uncomfortable moment, to which Schumer replied, “You’re married to that seat filler?”

Amy hosted the Oscars alongside Wanda Sykes and Regina HallThe three women had great chemistry during their opening speech. “This year the Academy hired three women to host, because it’s cheaper than hiring one man,” Amy quipped in a joke that landed much better than her seat filler joke. She also nailed it when she had to go on shortly after Will Smith slapped Chris Rockstating, “Did I miss anything?”

The Oscars’ In Memoriam segment honored many late actors like Betty White and Sidney Poitier, but fans were none too pleased when Bob Saget was snubbed.

Every year, the Oscars honors the greats of the film industry that we have lost in the past year. At the 94th Annual Academy Awards on March 27, late stars like Betty White, Sidney Poitier, William Hurt, Michael K. Williams, and Jean-Marc Vallee were celebrated in an ‘In Memoriam’ segment that was way more cheerful than normal. However, one notable star was missing from the important moment: Bob Saget.

Bob, who is best known for his TV role as Danny Tanner in Full House and its sequel Fuller House, was completely missing from the In Memoriam. The iconic actor/comedian died at the age of 65 on January 9, after suffering from a head trauma that led to a brain bleed. Fans were understandably upset Bob wasn’t mentioned at the Oscars and they aired their grievances with the Academy on Twitter.

“Actually leaving Bob Saget out of the In Memoriam was the most outrageous part of the Oscars,” one fan tweeted. That’s saying a lot, considering Will Smith smacked Chris Rock at the ceremony. Another viewer wrote, “I’ll be honest: I don’t understand why the Oscars work so hard to appeal to TV ratings, but exclude celebrity deaths like Bob Saget while including agents/managers. Not saying they don’t matter! It just seems counter to the Academy’s desire to get average viewers to tune in.”

Comedian Norm Macdonald was similarly snubbed during the ‘In Memoriam’ segment. One Twitter user brought up how Norm starred in the 1998 film Dirty Work, which Bob directed “Norm Macdonald and Bob Saget weren’t in the Oscar death montage. Perhaps it’s because they weren’t primarily known as ‘movie people.’ Or perhaps it’s because, despite this, they made the greatest movie of all time, Dirty Work (1998), and Hollywood never forgave them for it,” the person said.

— Coop (@ClownPopper) March 28, 2022

Bob’s career was mostly in TV and comedy. He did, however, appear in very brief roles in some movies over the years. Dirty Work was Bob’s feature film directorial debut. He starred in, directed, and executive produced the 2018 dark comedy Benjamin. Bob’s final film appearance will be the upcoming comedy film Killing Daniel. He completed filming the project nine months before his death.

After Bob unexpectedly passed, it was revealed that he had died from accidental head trauma that was likely caused by a fall. So many tributes poured in from A-list actors upon hearing of the tragic news and many members of his Full House cast attended his funeral including John StamosDave CoulierLori LoughlinCandace Cameron Bure, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

In recent years, Academy Award viewers have complained that the In Memoriam segments have felt rushed, especially during last year’s ceremony. In fact, so many people complained in 2020 that the Academy issued a statement responding to the complaints. “The Academy receives hundreds of requests to include loved ones and industry colleagues in the Oscars In Memoriam segment,” the organization said in a statement obtained by Deadline. “An executive committee representing every branch considers the list and makes selections for the telecast based on limited available time. All of the submissions are included on Oscar.com and will remain on the site throughout the year.”

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released a statement saying they’ll ‘explore further action’ while looking into the incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock during the live Oscars ceremony.

It seems like no one can stop talking about the incident that took place between Will Smith and Chris Rock on the Oscars stage on Sunday night, and it doesn’t look like the issue is going away anytime soon. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed that they are now doing a “formal review” of the moment the 53-year-old King Richard star walked on stage and slapped the 57-year-old comedian for telling a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith‘s hair, and will “explore further action” based on what they find.

“The Academy condemns the actions of Mr. Smith at last night’s show. We have officially started a formal review around the incident and will explore further action and consequences in accordance with our Bylaws, Standards of Conduct and California law,” the statement, which was shared by The Hollywood Reporter, read.

The issue is most likely going to be addressed at the next full meeting of the Academy’s board of governors, The Hollywood Reporter further reported. This meeting always looks back on the ceremony and includes discussions about anything that went wrong, so they can try and avoid it in the future.

One of the consequences Will may face after the review of the incident, is getting his Academy membership suspended, but there hasn’t been any confirmation or mention of the Academy Award he won getting taken away, as some social media users talked about after the slap.

The Academy’s review comes after Will spontaneously went up on stage and slapped Chris across the face after he joked that Jada could be in a sequel to G.I. Jane, the movie that featured Demi Moore with  a shaved head, because of her own shaved head. Since Jada has been open about her struggles with alopecia, which causes hair loss, in the past, Will and many others seemed to deem the joke inappropriate. Will later tearfully apologized to the Academy and his fellow nominees about the incident when accepting his award for Best Actor.

Chris reportedly declined to press charges against Will for the slap.

In the aftermath, Chris Rock has made the decision not to involve the police after Will Smith slapped him on live TV.

It is the Oscar moment no one will soon forget. While presenting at the Oscars on March 27th, Chris Rock was slapped in the face by Will Smith after making a remark about his wife, Jade Pinkett Smith. Airing live, viewers at home wondered if Chris would file a complaint with the police, but as of show night, the comedian has declined to do so, according to a statement from the LAPD, given toHollywoodLife.

“LAPD investigative entities are aware of an incident between two individuals during the Academy Awards program,” the statement reads. “The incident involved one individual slapping another. The individual involved has declined to file a police report. If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report.”

In case you missed the moment, Chris came out on stage to present the award for Best Documentary. Will was seated right in front of the stage, as he was a front runner in the Best Actor category.  While he was standing in front of the audience, Chris made a remark about Jada, who was seated next to Will, and her bald head. The comments found Will quickly on his feet and up on stage, walking towards Chris. Once they came face-to-face, Will slapped the comedian.

From his seat, Will shouted obscenities at Chris, who carried on with giving out the award. In the aftermath, Will was spotted being talked down by his fellow actors Denzel Washington and Bradley Cooper. It was clear the moment affected him when won his Best Actor award and took to the stage. Through tears, he spoke about ‘life imitating art’ and giving his apologies to the Academy and his fellow nominees, but he did not apologize to Chris Rock. HollywoodLife has reached out to both of the actors reps for comment, but did not immediately hear back.

Viewers at home were shocked when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock during the Oscars on March 27, and now, the actor’s son, Jaden, is revealing why the evening made him ‘cry’.

“And That’s How We Do It”, Jaden Smith tweeted on March 28, just moments after the 94th annual Academy Awards concluded. Those words were the first from Jaden, after viewers at home saw his dad, Will Smith, slap Chris Rock in the face after the comedian made a joke about Jaden’s mom, Jada Pinkett-Smith, having a bald head.

And That’s How We Do It

— Jaden (@jaden) March 28, 2022

Jaden didn’t say what his message was in reference to, but fans immediately assumed he was reacting to the slap heard ’round the world. Many responded with pictures of Will slapping Chris, and others made jokes about celebrity reactions from the audience inside the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

We must note, however, that it’s entirely possible Jaden’s message was more of a direct reaction to his dad’s emotional speech upon winning the award for Best Actor. Especially since Jaden’s tweet came after Will’s speech. And, the young actor followed up his initial tweet with a since-deleted one that said, ” My dad’s speech made me cry”. He also added a photo of himself looking sad with sunglasses on.

“Richard Williams was a fierce defender of his family,” Will said of the role he played in King Richard, while accepting his award on stage. “In this time of my life, in this moment, I am overwhelmed by what God is calling on me to do and be in this world. I’m being called on in my life to love people and to protect people and to be a river to my people. I know to do what we do you got to be able to take abuse. You got to have people talk crazy about you. In this business you got to be able to have people disrespecting you. You gotta smile and pretend like that’s okay. I wanna be a vessel for love.”

“I want to apologize to the academy, I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees,” Will went on, before adding, “Art imitates life. I look like the crazy father just like they said about Richard Williams. Love will make you do crazy things.”

When it comes to making people laugh, comedian Chris Rock, 57, has had a large audience to practice on since a very young age. Born to parents Rose and Julius Rock back in 1965, Chris would go on to be the eldest of seven siblings: six brothers and one sister.

Growing up in the 1980s in Brooklyn surrounded by an eccentric and fast-paced family would prove to be the perfect material for Chris, and he went on to base the hit show ‘Everybody Hates Chris‘ on his own teenage experiences, with Tyler James Williams playing the titular role. Though the beloved family sitcom may have gone off the air in 2009, Chris’ real-life family have continued their shenanigans, and each built their own unique lives as adults. Learn everything to know about Chris’ seven siblings, here!

Though Chris may be the eldest in his nuclear family, he has one older half-brother: Charles Ledell Rock, Julius’ son from a previous relationship. Born just two years before Chris, in 1953, Charles also shared a close relationship with Chris’ younger brother Tony, who called Charles “Charles tragically passed away at the young age of 52 in February of 2006. Chris’ firstborn brother, Andre Rock, has remained a largely private figure, even in the face of his brother’s spotlight. Born in 1967, Andre hasn’t often been seen publicly with Chris or his family. However, Andre still found his own way to honor his family history in Brooklyn; though he may not have created a TV show loosely based on its events, Andre reportedly runs a trucking business, Julius Rock Trucking Inc., named after his late father. Julius died in 1988.

If Chris thought he would be the only Rock brother with a knack for entertainment, he was proved wrong when Tony Rock came along in 1974. A stand-up comedian himself, Tony’s had roles on sitcoms like ‘Living Biblically‘ and ‘All of Us,’ and even had a recurring role on his own somewhat-true-to-life series. Tony became known for guest-starring as the hilarious Uncle Tony (reportedly based on his and Chris’ actual uncle) on ‘Everybody Hates Chris.’

In a 2008 interview with The Washington Post, Tony opened up about pursuing comedy in his brother’s footsteps, something he said came naturally in some ways after he grew up in their Bedford-Stueyvsant home listening raptly alongside Chris to records of comics like Richard Pryor, George Carlin, and Eddie Murphy. Tony shared that ultimately, coming after his brother is both a blessing and a curse. “I’m not afforded the luxury of just taking a set casual, taking the night off,” he explained. “Because if I bomb, it’s ‘Oh, he’s not funny — he’s just doing it because of his brother.’ “

Born in 1979, Chris’ brother Kenny Rock has found a solid balance between trying his hand at entertainment and staying out of the spotlight. Though he’s had a few acting roles, including films like Vesuvius and Coincidental Killer. Though Kenny doesn’t take too often to his Instagram, he loves sharing photos of his family, from selfies with Chris to throwback pictures of matriarch Rose. Back in 2020, Kenny shared a sweet selfie of him and Chris to honor Chris’ birthday, captioning the post with heartwarming hashtags like “brotherly love,” “black comedy,” and “family first.”

Opening up about Chris in a 2017 interview with The New York Times, Kenny detailed how he sees his brother, regardless of his ease in front of stadium-sized crowds, as an introvert. “Chris has a different, high-caliber circle of people around him, and he’s very socially awkward,” Kenny shared. “When you’re around him outside of work, you’re not going to get many words out of him at all. He’s very introverted.”

Chris’ one and only baby sister, Andi Rock was born in 1985 and managed to hold her own among her enormous band of brothers. Currently based in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Andi is reportedly a therapist specializing in working with children with autism. Andi’s elder brothers are clearly beyond fond of her and all she’s accomplished, and Kenny sweetly referred to her as his “lil sis” in an Instagram shot of Andi, Jordan, Kenny, and Chris posing happily together in celebration of the holidays.

Jordan Rock
Chris’ youngest brother Jordan has also pursued a comedy career, and has even appeared with Chris onstage before. (Mediapunch/Shutterstock)

Chris’ mom Rose once famously joked there may be comedy genes in her “breast milk” given how many of her sons pursued the career, and youngest Rock brother Jordan Rock would prove to be no exception. Born in 1991, by the time Jordan began pursuing comedy Chris was already a superstar, and brother Tony had gotten his start as well. But instead of being scared away by his older siblings’ success, Jordan dove into creating his own lane, eventually nabbing roles in projects like HBO Max’s ‘Love Life‘ and the film Big Time Adolescence, where Jordan acted opposite Pete Davidson.

Once described by his brother Tony as the “hipster, cool kid, skateboard and wise beyond his years” Rock brother, Jordan grew up in South Carolina and moved to Brooklyn to pursue comedy (and be near his brothers) after dropping out of high school. Jordan’s millennial-aimed brand of comedy includes jokes like the opener: “I’m Jordan Rock. I’m the younger brother of Chris Rock. You guys have probably never heard of me. Because I’m the Solange of my family.” Although Tony shared that at first, he was hesitant to support Jordan in comedy, today, he sweetly refers to his youngest brother as his favorite comedian…even over Chris!

The 2022 Academy Awards are the first Oscars in years to have hosts! Before the show kicks off, here are some of the stars who have taken on the role in the past.

The Oscars has been without a host since 2019, but that’s about to change: Amy SchumerWanda Sykes, and Regina Hall are all set to co-host the 94th Academy Awards on March 27th! The trio were announced on February 16, 2022 after several days of speculation.

The 2019 Academy Awards show made history as going host-free for the first time since 1989. It wasn’t originally planned that way. Kevin Hart was previously enlisted for the gig, but before long, Twitter users began resurfacing years-old homophobic tweets. Hart then stepped down from the role amidst the backlash against him and no one stepped in to take the gig. In the years since, the show has gone without a host to shepherd the exhausting three to four hour telecast along, and it has managed to not miss a beat.

Of course the delightful opening monologues and audience interaction throughout the telecast will always be missed. But the show must go on and is doing so in 2021 via celebrity presenters having a bigger part. After a sneak peek of Wanda, Amy and Regina’s upcoming gig, here’s a list of stars who took on Oscar hosting duties over the years to varying degrees of success.

Amy Schumer, Regina Hall & Wanda Sykes: 2022

In an effort to promote the upcoming show, Amy, Regina and Wanda already brought the laughs in a new promo.

They just have to do better than last year's hosts… 😉

Catch @MoreReginaHall, @amyschumer and @iamwandasykes host the #Oscars LIVE Sunday, March 27 on @ABCNetwork! pic.twitter.com/inzA0r0ef5

— The Academy (@TheAcademy) March 10, 2022

“Ladies, are you ready to host the Oscars?” Amy asked Regina and Wanda, as Wanda retorted they just had to “do better than last year’s host.” Of course, the 2021 show didn’t have a host, which they quickly began to realize. “I don’t even remember last year’s host…they must have gotten cancelled,” Wanda pondered. Regina quickly recalled that there was not a host, prompting Wanda to declare, “Boom! We’re already winning!”

Jimmy Kimmel: 2017 and 2018
Jimmy Kimmel hosts the 2018 Academy Awards, after being asked back for the second year in a row. Photo credit: Shutterstock.

ABC was pleased with the network’s late night talk show host’s performance in 2017, especially how he handled the debacle of La La Land incorrectly being named Best Picture over the actual winner Moonlight. It earned Jimmy Kimmel a second go as host in back to back ceremonies, returning in 2018. Thanks to his home base in Hollywood and his tight knit circle of A-list friends, Jimmy was right at home in front of the starry Oscars audience. It also helped that Jimmy Kimmel Live‘s head writer — and Jimmy’s wife — Molly McNearney took over the telecast’s writing duties to keep the show’s humor current and hip.

Chris Rock: 2005 and 2016
Chris Rock hosts the 2016 Oscars telecast, the year the show was nicknamed #OscarsSoWhite for the nominees lack of diversity. Photo credit: Shutterstock.

Chris Rock had the unenviable task of hosting in 2016, the year that there were zero nominations for actors of color, at the 88th Academy Awards. As a result, the Black comedian had to address the #OscarsSoWhite elephant in the room. He ripped into the topic in his monologue,  jokingly referring to the ceremony as the “White People’s Choice Awards.” He added that in years past there hadn’t been an uproar over the lack of diversity because “we had real things to protest; we’re too busy being raped and lynched to care about who won best cinematographer.” He also added, “This year, in the In Memoriam package, it’s just going to be black people that were shot by the cops on their way to the movies.”

Neil Patrick Harris: 2015
Neil Patrick Harris ticked off hosting the Oscars from his ‘Bucket List,’ but later revealed he’d never want to do it again because of brutal backlash on social media. Photo credit: Shutterstock.

Neil Patrick Harris was already a veteran of hosting several Tony Awards telecasts, and brought his song and dance skills to the Oscars. Actress Anna Kendrick joined him onstage for a lively musical opening number, and he seemed to enjoy hosting the show. That was, until he read Twitter afterwards. NPH later appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and said he’d never host the show again after looking at Twitter and finding “Uniform hatred,” of his hosting duties. He went on to tell the Huffington Post, “I don’t know that my family nor my soul could take it. It’s a beast. It was fun to check off the list, but for the amount of time spent and the understandable opinionated response, I don’t know that it’s a delightful balance to do every year or even again.”

Ellen DeGeneres: 2007 and 2014
Ellen DeGeneres’ 2014 hosting gig was mainly remembered for her having ‘moments’ with her A-list front rows audience members. Photo credit: Shutterstock.

Back when daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres was still known as the “Queen of Nice,” the upbeat comedian was asked back in 2014 after hosting the show in 2007. Rather than poke fun at the Oscars or bring any controversial jokes, she mixed and mingled with her A-list front row audience. Ellen infamously gathered Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Bradley Cooper, Lupita Nyong’o and more together for a massive celebrity selfie. She later had boxes of pizzas brought in which she served up to the same hungry movies stars, with Brad Pitt even helping pass out paper napkins and plates.

Seth McFarlane: 2013
Seth McFarlane vowed to never host the Oscars again after a controversial performance as host in 2013. Photo credit: Shutterstock.

Add Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane to the list of hosts who never want the job again. He did a disastrous and misogynistic song and dance number called “We Saw Your Boobs,” where Seth named off actresses and the movies where they appeared topless. Seth also made a joke about Kim Kardashian’s “dark facial hair.” He later told Entertainment Weekly, “It’s a format that’s about as current as the 1950s variety show format. There’s always an effort to make it interesting and exciting to viewers who are used to a very different entertainment landscape in the modern era, and it’s often times fitting a square peg in a round hole. So it’s not an easy job, and I’m not surprised that they have a tough time finding takers.”

Billy Crystal: 2012 plus eight other times as host
Billy Crystal’s comedic schtick that made him such a successful Oscars host in the 1990s felt stale and dated by the time he hosted in 2012. Photo credit: Shutterstock.

After the total disaster that was Anne Hathaway and James Franco’s Oscars co-hosting duties in 2011, the Academy brought back “safe” stalwart Billy Crystal, after their first choice Eddie Murphy withdrew from the gig. He reigned as the host of the show seven times between 1990 and 2000, and was a familiar and beloved presence for the audience and viewers. But Billy played it too safe to the point of being boring. Washington Post critic Hank Stuever wrote that Billy “seemed to be overseeing a cruise ship dinner show designed to appeal to the over-50 travel club,” adding that, “Early on, it hit the rocks and started to list. Almost everyone drowned.”

Anne Hathaway and James Franco: 2011
James Franco and Anne Hathaway proved to be poorly matched as co-hosts of the 2011 Oscars.

Anne Hathaway unfortunately had a super rough go at it when she co-hosted the show with James Franco in 2011. The two were ill-matched thanks to Franco’s utter lack of enthusiasm, which Hathaway then tried to overcompensate for with a ton of energy. And the worst part is the Ocean’s 8 star didn’t even want to host to begin with! “Can I dish some tea?” Hathaway told People, in an interview published Feb. 10, 2019. “I turned that gig down, and James is the one that convinced me to do it.” She then added that she would have likely been fine if Franco admitted it was all a joke. “If he’d turned around and said ‘I’m pranking you right now.’ I think I would have been okay with it. I would’ve been like, ‘That sucks, but it’s epic,” she said. “When all the dust settled, I was just like, you gotta be kidding me. Your first instinct is usually the right one, and all the reasons why I turned it down came true,”

The 94th Academy Awards air Sunday, March 27th at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST on ABC.

The stars of ‘Only Murders in the Building’ were called an ‘iconic trio’ who would be a ‘dream’ to take over as MCs for the upcoming 2022 Academy Awards.

The more the merrier! Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short are reportedly being eyed to host the upcoming 2022 Academy Awards! Oscar organizers are said to be excited about the prospect of uniting a young Hollywood heavyweight such as Selena with two comedic legends like Steve and Martin on stage for the glamorous affair, per Variety. As all three starred on Hulu’s mega hit Only Murders in the Building and the award show is being broadcast on ABC, the choice would be a huge win for Disney, who owns both companies.

“I mean, they are an iconic trio,” Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment president Craig Erwich said of Selena, Steve and Martin to the outlet. “They have mass appeal. Everybody loves them. They’d be a dream. That said, there’s a lot of incredible talent we’re considering. We’re having ongoing conversations with Will (Packer, Oscar producer) and the Academy about it.”

The news follows rumors of Pete Davidson’s name being tossed around as an early choice for MC. After the Oscars announced there would be a host after three years without one, the Saturday Night Live star was reportedly in talks to take the job. However, an insider told Variety that only an “informal conversation” took place, and nothing came of it. As Pete is a huge draw for NBC on SNL, it might not be the best move for competing network ABC to promote him.

Jimmy Kimmel served as the last host of the Oscars, having emceed the ceremony in 2017 and 2018. Other famous hosts over the past decade included James Franco/Anne Hathaway in 2011, Billy Crystal in 2012, Ellen DeGeneres in 2014, Neil Patrick Harris in 2015 and Chris Rock in 2016. While hosting can often be a blight on an entertainer’s resume (see Franco/Hathaway), the gig is still considered rather prestigious.

The final choice for who will host the 2022 Oscars will be made by Packer, ABC executives and the Academy. Insiders told Variety that there has been no decision made yet, talks are ongoing and there is “no frontrunner at this point.” Fingers crossed Selena, Steve and Martin fans!

Kim Kardashian had a bevy of handsome men to choose from in this ‘Bachelorette’ spoof, including Tyler Cameron, Chase Crawford, John Cena and Jesse Williams!

After years of spoofing  Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Saturday Night Live finally welcomed Kim Kardashian, 40, to Studio 8H. The reality star brought the laughs in plenty of sketches, including an epic star-studded version of The Bachelorette dubbed “The Dreamy Guy.” In the sketch, a blonde haired Kim — going by the name Rochelle — attempted to find her husband from a roster of handsome A-Listers including Chris Rock, Jessie Williams, John Cena, Chase Crawford, and Tyler Cameron!

“I have no doubt in my mind that my husband is in this room. In fact, I wish I could marry each and every one of you but that would be way too many husbands,” Kim, wearing a yellow dress, said on-stage to her contenders. She then called each of them up one to receive a token indicating they’ve made the next round. First up? Chase!

“Chase — I had no much fun at the go carts with you — thank you for telling me about your hit show Gossip Girl,” Kim said to him, as he nervously took the token from her. Next to make the list was former real-life Bachelorette contestant Tyler, who she thanked for his “hot body” (he then retorted that he’d see her “in the hot tub”). Chris Rock, dapper in a plaid blazer, was then called up.

“Chris R — thank you for making me watch your nine HBO specials as you sat next to me and mouthed all the words,” she said in a perfectly neutral tone. Chris accepted the token from the reality star, and noted perhaps they should “watch [Dave] Chappelle next time.” Kim’s Rochelle then threw in a twist like Bachelor viewers have never seen!

“This might be aginst the rules but I really connected with one of the producers on the show. Amy S!” she declared, as Amy Schumer unexpectedly popped out! “Even though I’ve never dated a woman before, I feel…” she said, before Amy cut her off and said she had feelings, too. Finally, she chose Jessie Williams and John Cena, leaving Kyle Mooney‘s “Zeek” in the dust.

“Jessie W — I didn’t talk to you one single time this entire week, but you are the most attractive human I’ve ever seen,” she explained. “John C — you’re kind, considerate, mega jacked and very, very rich…I don’t love that you have a wife,” she pondered, referencing Shay Shariatzadeh. John agreed that was “very., very” fair as Kim’s Rochelle said she’s going to “to need you to figure out your wife situation.”

The ‘Undoing’ star wore the classic style as she interviewed Chris Rock for ‘Variety.’

Nicole Kidman showed off her natural curls in a cute selfie that was shared on Twitter on June 10. The 53-year-old mom-of-four took the photo on the day that she interviewed actor and comedian Chris Rock for Variety magazine.

The looked harkened back to the 1990s when the Australian actress first burst on to the international movie scene. Three decades ago, when she played Tom Cruise’s love interest in Days of Thunder, the star wore her hair in a mass of red, tumbling curls. But these days Nicole tends to opt for either a straight or wavy look.

“The assignment was to send us a selfie,” Variety’s Twitter caption read. “Nicole Kidman understood it.” She also understood the main task at hand as she and Chris sat down for a virtual chat as part of the magazine’s Actors on Actors series.

In particular the Oscar-winner spoke to the New Yorker about playing iconic TV star Lucille Ball in the upcoming biopic, Being the Ricardos. “I am way out of my comfort zone right now, Chris,” the Big Little Lies actress admitted as they discussed accents and prepping for roles. “I’m free-falling.”

“The strange thing about Lucille Ball is that everyone thinks we’re remaking the I Love Lucy show, and it’s so not that,” added Nicole who has faced fierce social media backlash from fans who think Will & Grace star Debra Messing would have been a better fit. “It’s about Lucy and Desi and their relationship and their marriage. It’s very deep actually.”

The “Desi” that Nicole is referring to, of course, is Desi Arnaz, the star’s husband who played her on-screen spouse Ricky Ricardo in the iconic TV show. Nicole is playing opposite Spanish actor Javier Bardem in the Aaron Sorkin biopic.

“She was a trailblazer,” Nicole said of Lucille who died in 1989 at the age of 77. “She formed her production company. Desi was Cuban, and she had to fight to get him on the show. They had just so many things in their marriage that are so relevant today, and what she was also dealing with in terms of everything that artists deal with, where you’re up against big corporations. And you’re like, ‘No, this is art.’”

As for Nicole, when it comes to photos, she isn’t the only member of her family to cause a stir on the internet by sharing a selfie this week. On June 8, her son Connor Cruise shared a rare picture of himself in his Instagram stories feed. “New face. Who dis [sic]?” the 26-year-old captioned the photo of himself with newly cropped hair and a freshly trimmed beard.

Connor is one of two children that Nicole adopted with her first husband Tom Cruise. They also have a daughter, Isabella, who is 28.

‘High School Musical’ alum Vanessa Hudgens has stunned in a black dress at a hotel opening party in Miami. See the pics.

Vanessa Hudgens has bared her taut abs in a black gown at a swanky Miami party. The High School Musical alum attended the Inter Miami CF Season Opening Party at The Goodtime Hotel on April 16, and looked totally radiant. She walked the red carpet at the event, which was co-hosted by “Happy” singer Pharrell Williams and high-profile restauranteur David Grutman, alongside stars like Future, Rick Ross, and Chris Rock.

The actress, 32, stunned in a sleek black gown, which featured a high neckline and long sleeves, with large triangular cutouts on her mid section. She also accessorized with two small ropes around her toned abs, along with gold necklaces, gold hoop earrings, and an assortment of rings. Her brunette tresses fell just above her shoulders, in soft glamorous curls, as she flashed the camera a sultry smile.

Her appearance at the party came just a few weeks after the Disney Channel alum was seen cheering on her 24-year-old MLB player boyfriend Cole Tucker in Bradenton, FL. She supported the Pirates at the city’s LECOM Park when they took on the Minnesota Twins during Spring training. Vanessa and Cole started dating in Nov. 2020, but they didn’t confirm they were officially a couple until sharing some Valentine’s Day Instagram posts.

In the February 14 photo Vanessa shared, the couple shared a sweet kiss as the actress wrote in the caption, “It’s you, it’s me, it’s us” and tagged Cole along with a red heart emoji. Cole also posted a photo of the pair cuddling on a sofa in tie-dyed sweats and wished Vanessa a “Happy V-Day” to which she responded in the comments, “Melted” with heart emojis.

Back in 2020, a source close to the actress revealed she “couldn’t stop smiling” when she was around Cole. “Although she doesn’t want to rush things, she really likes being with him because there’s a level of comfortability there. She thinks he’s really genuine, down to earth, and she feels like she can just be herself around him,” the source dished.

Chris Rock, Pete Davidson, Kenan Thompson & Chris Redd also lent verses to this ‘SNL’ -approved hiphop tune, hilariously addressing pandemic dating woes.

Megan Thee Stallion, 25, just appeared in her first sketch on Saturday Night Live and it was everything! The “Hot Girl Summer” rapper popped up (and lent a verse) alongside Chris Redd in a tune aptly titled, “Bottom Of My Face.” On the track, Chris and Pete Davidson and Kenan Thompson address the pandemic dating problem of not being able to see their partner’s entire face.

“Hello. You got your mask on — trying to be swag…it’s been a month and three days. I want you in so many ways. But there’s one thing getting in the way: still haven’t seen the bottom of your face,” Chris said to Megan, who was clad in a black mask. “Bottom of your face…I love that mask, but for real what’s the deal?” he went on.

“Boy shut up…they don’t care about your wealth, they just wanna see you topless,” Megan retorted, with her signature sexy eye makeup. “Boy stop. You want a hot girl or not?” she asked, as the boys continued begging to see the “bottom of” her face. Host Chris Rock, 55 — who opened up season 46 with a bang — then popped up as the voice of reason. “Sure, she can twerk it — but you don’t know what the hell she looks like! Life is a rollercoaster — before you go back to that place, you gotta see bottom of her face,” he suggested.

SNL took to social media to make the announcement Chris would be hosting on Sept. 24. “October. 3. @chrisrock @theestallion,” the tweet read, also including Megan Thee Stallion’s name on a post-it note. The sketch program followed up with a hilarious montage of Chris hosting and appearing on the NBC series over the years. “Chris Rock. This Saturday. #SNLPremiere,” the show’s official Twitter account wrote alongside the short video.

The Grown Ups star has a lengthy history with the NBC sketch series, appearing as a regular cast member from 1990 – 1993. Alongside a successful stand-up career — that included several highly-rated HBO specials — Chris became a bonafide film star with movies like Down to Earth, The Longest Yard and Dogma. He later returned to SNL as host in 1996, then again in 2014 in addition to numerous cameos. Over the years, he became known for a number of roles, including Onski from the on-going “I’m Chillin’” themed sketches.

Most recently, Chris appeared in Dec. 2019 for Eddie Murphy‘s epic return to the SNL stage after over 30 years. “Did you get my sketch?” Chris asked Eddie on-stage, explaining that he had an idea for the Nutty Professor star to appear in a Law & Order themed skit including a UTI. “Yeah, but instead of Ice-T it’s cranberry juice,” Chris further explained, then throwing Eddie the ultimate shade: that he wouldn’t have missed the episode because his kids are huge fans of Lizzo, who was performing! Dave Chappelle and Tracy Morgan also made cameos.

The Brooklyn, New York native has previously opened up about his experience working on SNL — including the time showrunner Lorne Michaels told him that “everyone loses their first money. And if you’re talented, you’ll make more.” Chris later confessed he lived large in his first year on the series — including splurging on a red Corvette. “My first year on SNL, I made $90,000 dollars. And I bought a red Corvette for $45,000 dollars. I’m thinking, I’ve got 45 grand left!’ Taxes didn’t even come into my equation,” he said in 2012 to Details magazine. “At the end of the first year of making 90 grand I was 25, 30 in the hole. We live in this baller, spend-money culture,” he also said.
