3. He’s paid tribute to his brother on many occasions

Since Mac’s death in 2018 at 26-years-old, Miller has paid tribute to his rapper brother, whose real name was Malcolm McCormick, on a few occasions. He spoke about how the Swimming rapper’s legacy has endured in a November 4 discussion with Interview magazine. “Malcolm was this atom bomb of pure light and energy. Well, maybe atom bomb is too violent a term, but that kind of person doesn’t just disappear,  they live on in their work,” he said. “There’s nobody like Malcolm.”

Miller also wrote a touching remembrance of his brother on his Instagram on October 15. “[M]alcolm made people into friends. [T]he light, that stuff really stays,” he wrote. “[I] just picture him during the livestream running circles in a living room and jumping next to someone on a couch. [I] miss you and [I] love you a lot.”

4. He got the name of Machine Gun Kelly’s upcoming movie changed

Following the announcement that Machine Gun Kelly would star in an upcoming movie Good News, inspired by late rappers such as Mac, Pop Smoke, JuiceWrld, and Lil Peep, Miller took to his Instagram in July 2021 to voice his disapproval of the movie, according to Complex. “F**k you, f**k your movie, at least change the title,” he wrote. The movie shares a title with one of the songs on Mac’s posthumous 2020 album Circles.

While the filmmakers swore the movie is fictional, they nonetheless changed the title after Miller called them out. “Our film is about a fictional musician on the rise with a troubled life. It’s not in any way a biopic or based on any artist’s true life,” the producers said in a statement to NME. “We realise the title, which was intended as an homage to Mac Miller, and other artists gone too soon, feels disrespectful.”

5. He studied at Penn State

Miller’s LinkedIn page has his professional experience, including working as a graphic designer for The Ace Hotel and Chandelier Creative. It also noted that he was a graduate from Penn State university, which he attended from 2008 until 2012.

With his new song ‘Paralyzed,’ rapper Sueco ‘goes home’ to his punk and hardcore roots, and he tells HL why this new musical direction is so important to him.

If Sueco had any lingering doubts about embracing his punk roots with his new song, “Paralyzed,” they seemingly evaporated during his chat with HollywoodLife. “We got literally, an hour ago, the news that it’s number 65 on the Billboard Hot 100,” Sueco says. It’s his first entry into the chart and a huge milestone for the rising star. We’re chatting less than two weeks after Sueco – known more for his mumble rap stylings under the Sueco The Child moniker – released the punk-powered track. Since then, “Paralyzed” has maintained a presence on the Top 100. For Sueco, it’s validation after taking a risk by embracing a new sound.

“It’s like a dream come true,” he says. “I well – I knew this was gonna happen, right? I knew eventually it was gonna happen. Like, obviously, I didn’t know if that gonna be this song. I knew this was a good song, but I didn’t think it was gonna smack like this, though.” Sueco takes a moment actually to take it in, and he seems genuinely touched by the overwhelming reaction to the song. “It’s a good feeling,” he says of the song and how it’s resonating with people. “Because this is the type of music that I want [to make] — it’s a deeper connection to people. It’s going to mean more to people. And that’s what I always wanted to do —  help people through the music. That’s what a record like this — everything I’m putting out — that’s what it does. And so, it means a lot to me that it’s doing so well.”

Paralyzed” is a natural evolution for Sueco. Beginning with a hip-hop cadence, the song kicks into high gear with a scream-fueled chorus that blends the best of early 2000s hardcore/screamo with the modern-day punk sound. While “Paralyzed” is a departure from his earlier work (“Sober,” “Fast,” “PRIMADONA”), Sueco is no stranger to this harder sound. “I grew up in punk bands, in hardcore bands, I was a screamer,” says Sueco. “Like, that was my first like musical expression. So, it’s just coming back home for me.” Sueco says he was in the third or fourth grade when someone showed him “a little iPod Mini or whatever,” and on it was Green Day’s American Idiot.

“American Idiot was the first album I ever bought with my own money,” said Sueco, who also cites hearing A Day To Remember for the first time as another moment that certified his love for punk. “It was on Pandora. ‘The Downfall of Us All’ came on Pandora, and I was like, ‘what the hell is that?’” he says with a laugh. “I was probably like in, sixths or seventh grade.”

(@frankhavemercy)

Since then, Sueco has grown up a lifelong punk fan, a truth he’s embracing with his new music. However, this doesn’t mean he’s disavowed his early work. “The rap music that I made that blew up, like — obviously, it’s good. I like it, people like it,” he adds. “But, everything that’s coming out now, it’s deeper than just being in the studio having fun. It’s expressing all the things going on inside, all the things maybe that ‘aren’t the best,’ all the pain.”

The lyrical makeup of “Paralyzed” is cut directly from the emo/screamo cloth, capturing the conflict between the heart and the mind when love has gone wrong. “The song is about this girl that I was in this relationship with,” says Sueco. “I wrote this song maybe a little over two months ago. I’m not with this girl anymore, and it was really like a very short-lived, but very, like, so many emotions in this short time. And what I wrote it about is this feeling where it’s like, I realized in my brain, ‘oh, yeah, this is bad for me. This is really, really bad for me. What am I doing? I need to get the hell out of here. But then, in my emotions, it’s like, ‘oh, man, I wanted so bad. Like, all that I need to be here. I’m gonna keep going for it. It was like that internal conflict. That’s what the song is about. And it’s like, feeling in this in-between space, you’re stuck. You’re paralyzed.”

Sueco’s trajectory is anything but paralyzed. Months before his debut on the Billboard Hot 100, Sueco tested the waters by releasing “SOS,” a collab with the man who has become synonymous with the recent punk resurgence: Travis Barker. Short for “same old story,” Sueco’s “SOS” shows off his singing voice and emotional lyrics. Sueco said it was “sick” to work with him. “It was definitely like a moment, though. Obviously, he’s such a big influence, and like he did so much for the [punk] culture. He’s one of the most famous drummers of all time, and I grew up a drummer. Like, that was the first instrument I ever played. I started playing drums when I was 12. So obviously, I was feeling some type of way.”

Did Travis give any advice to Sueco on his punk journey? “He just said ‘keep doing me.’” Sueco also added that Travis was more of a “reserved,” “chill,” and quiet when working on the song. “He’s like one of those people that’s kind of sits in the corner and doesn’t say much. But when they do, it means a lot. You know what I’m saying?”

(Atlantic Records)

Punk has become a way for Sueco and others in his generation to say what’s on their mind, with more and more embracing heavier sounds. As to why rock is making a comeback, Sueco has ideas. “I think there’s a couple of things going on. One is that a lot of things follow a 20-year cycle,” he said, citing the sounds of early 2000s emo, nu-metal, screamo, and post-punk. Sueco also pointed out how those sounds found their way back through hip-hop. “The last couple of years, people like Juice WRLD, XXXTentacion, Lil Peep. They kind of brought these sounds back into the mainstream ear, even though it wasn’t full-blown, you know, rock music or full-blown punk yet. People are connecting those sounds and just taking it to the next step where it’s actually just rock music now. As to where before, it was kind of this hybrid.”

So, will fans get a full-blown rock album from Sueco by the end of the year? “Yeah, I’m finalizing it,” he says. “I hope it’ll be out by the end of the year. But if not, like, the first month, next year, like it’s coming, it’s all coming together.”

Marlo – Christmas Lights Lyrics (feat. Rylo)

[Intro: Rylo Rodriguez]
Green beam, green beam
There won’t be a tonight, this ain’t Christmas Lights, yeah
Red beam, green beam, you can die anytime
Baby came from the bricks where the bitch hatin’ a meal ticket
DeCicco

[Chorus: Rylo Rodriguez]
Baby came from the bricks where the bitch hatin’ a meal ticket
Lord know, if I don’t blow, would they still kick it?
That’s why we know, she a ho, when we gotta deal with it
The syrup always make me mad unless I take a pill with it
With the same niggas from the huddle who was in the field with me
Fourth and twenty, now they’re facing twenty, just throw a flag on ’em (free my niggas, yeah)
Way them rats run down you, you would think it’s Christmas night
Read beams, green beams, but we ain’t shootin’ Christmas lights

[Verse 1: Rylo Rodriguez]
Got a hood bitch at the Waffle House, might get a tip tonight
You know you playin’ this song, you can get killed tonight
But your hip now, it’s off the hip now, it’s on your reach now
Side bitch tryna make a shot now, she’s just a rebound
Made the bitch made, made the teacher mad, but the plug proud
All my niggas locked behind bars, just know I love y’all
My dad and Tyrone let on the street
We was saved by the bell like we Screech
We twenty-three, leave ’em dead in the street
Make your mama faint when they pull back the sheet
I ain’t on drank then I can’t go to sleep
Sixth grade, I ain’t have nothin’ to eat
Was shootin’ dice, tryna buy up some sneaks
I’ma put a percocet on a P
Fell off but got back on my feet
It was times I couldn’t afford new clothes
I’ma call up Boosie, get ’em for cheap
f**k a bitch and I’ma paint her toes
Her new spot, she just gave me a key
Buy the xans just like I’m Lil Peep
David Ruffin, yeah I love this high
Hellcat in the projects, give ’em motivation
Let a thug get by
Freelance, runnin’ to the Boys & Girls Club in the morning
Hit the fire hydrant with a Boeing

[Verse 2: Marlo]
I’m the same nigga from the block when that shit was hot as f**k
Now the young nigga gon’ gun somethin’
Told Ralo stay down and we gon’ run it up
And them oldhead niggas was scared to front every one of us
Take it back to the T and turn the guns up
Give ’em red beam, green beam, this ain’t Christmas, it’s a lightshow
You can die at any time in the night though
And I been workin’ real hard to pay my ass off
And I’m still standing in the trap, sellin’ pounds, keep a strap
And a nigga know I ain’t goin’ for that, be shootin’ where our mama at
And I hope this rap take off for me, I got a lot of niggas to feed
I’m still havin’ them bad dreams and them nightmares
That 12 ran up in the spot and caught a nigga with a block
Got my country boy cashin’ out
I be keepin’ it work in a drought

Machine Gun Kelly – Glass House Lyrics

Play this song

[Refrain: Lana Del Ray]
All alone in the glass house
Lay awake ’til the sun’s out
Thank the sky when you come down
Empty in the driveway
Caffeine for the heartache
Never wanna have it my way

[Verse 1: Machine Gun Kelly]
Yeah, I fuck up and lose control
Burnt so many bridges, got nowhere to go
Bitches got these motives like Anna Nicole
I’m smoking cigarettes alone until it burn a hole
In my lungs, in my soul, in my denim coat
Same place I’ma keep that knife if I’ma slit my throat
This shit ugly, I was just with Nipsey, now he ghost
They even got my homie Pete out here, like, fuck the jokes
Damn

[Chorus: Lana Del Ray & Machine Gun Kelly]
All alone in the glass house (Just keep it going)
Lay awake ’til the sun’s out
Thank the sky when you come down
Sometimes I just wanna fucking scream or run away, I don’t know

[Verse 2: Machine Gun Kelly]
Ayy, life’s been hard since 17
I’ve been through hell, I think I’m somewhere inbetween
Caught in purgatory, I can paint the scene
Everything turned to a nightmare from a dream
Look, wish Lil Peep and me had spoke but I can’t get that back
Just came from Pittsburgh, damn, I’ll miss my homie Mac
Yeah, last time I got off the stage I looked Chester in the face
But now he gone, and ain’t no going back, uh

[Chorus: Lana Del Ray & Machine Gun Kelly]
Why don’t you throw me in the damn rain?
Bury me in gold chains
Throw me the damn rain
I’m waiting on the rain to come and wash it all away
Why don’t you throw me in the damn rain?
Bury me in gold chains
Throw me the damn rain

[Verse 3: Machine Gun Kelly]
Lately I’ve been sick of living and nobody knows how I’m really feeling
I always hated a smile, but a keyboard is killing me, hidden inside
I didn’t sign up to be the hero but I don’t want to wind up a villain
I put my daughter to bed then attempted to kill myself in the kitchen
Yeah, I should’ve screamed, but nobody listened
So I passed out with the blood dripping
In this glass house, feeling like a prison
Me and death keep tongue-kissing
I just fell out with my lil’ bro, the life getting to us
The drink getting to us, the drugs getting to us
It’s highway to hell and everyone knew what the fuck were we doing
I’m feeling like

[Chorus: Lana Del Ray & Machine Gun Kelly]
Why don’t you throw me in the damn rain?
Bury me in gold chains
Throw me the damn rain
I’m waiting on the rain to come and wash it all away
Why don’t you throw me in the damn rain?
Bury me in gold chains
Throw me the damn rain

[Refrain: Lana Del Ray]
All alone in the glass house
Lay awake ’til the sun’s out
Thank the sky when you come down
Empty in the driveway
Caffeine for the heartache
Never wanna have it my way

The 1975 – Love It If We Made It Lyrics

[Verse 1]
We’re fucking in a car, shooting heroin
Saying controversial things just for the hell of it
Selling melanin and then suffocate the black men
Start with misdemeanours and we’ll make a business out of them
And we can find out the information
Access all the applications that are hardening positions based on miscommunication
Oh! Fuck your feelings!
Truth is only hearsay!
We’re just left to decay!
Modernity has failed us

[Chorus]
And I’d love it if we made it
Yes, I’d love it if we made it
Yes, I’d love it if we made it
Yes, I’d love it if we made it

[Verse 2]
And poison me daddy
I got the Jones right through my bones
Write it on a piece of stone
A beach of drowning 3 year olds
Rest in peace Lil Peep
The poetry is in the streets
Jesus save us!
Modernity has failed us

[Chorus]
And I’d love it if we made it
Yes, I’d love it if we made it
Yes, I’d love it if we made it
Yes, I’d love it if we made it
And I’d love it if we made it
And I’d love it if we made it
And I’d love it if we made it
I’d love it if we made it

Tell me something I didn’t know

[Bridge]
Consultation
Degradation
Fossil fuelling
Masturbation
Immigration
Liberal kitsch
Kneeling on a pitch

[Verse 3]
“I moved on her like a bitch!”
Excited to be indicted
Unrequited house with seven pools
“Thank you Kanye, very cool!”
The war has been incited and guess what, you’re all invited
And you’re famous
Modernity has failed us

[Outro]
And I’d love it if we made it
And I’d love it if we made it
And I’d love it if we made it
Tell me something I didn’t know
And I’d love it if we made it
And I’d love it if we made it
And I’d love it if we made it
And I’d love it if we made it

Chief Keef Had 8 Different Drugs In His System In DUI Arrest

Chief Keef might want to make a New Year’s Resolution to stay off drugs.

The Chi-Town rapper had at least 8 different drugs in his system during his DUI arrest last year, TMZ reported. Keef was arrested in Miami in April last year after cops say they spotted him conducting a marijuana transaction in the middle of the street. Turns out that weed wasn’t the only drug he was taking while partying in Miami Beach that weekend.

Chief Keef was required to submit a urine sample for testing and he complied. The test came back showing a massive amount of drugs in his system including codeine, morphine, THC, norcodeine, promethazine, hydromorphone, and dihydrocodeine. The Florida state attorney dropped the driving under the influence charge against the rapper on Tuesday but file it back the next day since it was only done due to a scheduling issue.

During his arrest, Keef told cops that he will have his attorney send them his marijuana card, that’s after he submitted his urine sample. Now where does that leave the other drugs inside his system. Last year, rapper Lil Peep died from a drug overdose on fake codeine, a substance he has been hooked on for sometime.

Young Thug Cries For Help Post Pic Of Lean IV In His Hand

Is this a cry for help from Young Thug?

The Atlanta rapper posted a pic of himself with a IV in his hand supplying what appears to be lean, aka sizzurp. There is an ongoing debate on social media about celebrities drug addiction. With the growing opioid epidemic across the US, celebrities are especially under scrutiny since their fans usually follow what they are doing. Lean, which is a drug made from codeine cough syrup and sprite, is popularized by hip hop artists who often post pictures of their double Styrofoam cups and even rap about it.

Young Thug is taking it to a different level by injecting in directly into his blood stream through an IV. “F**k a double cup I wanna feel it faster,” the rapper caption the pic showing the IV in his hand. Some fans commented calling it a cry for help from Thugger who has never been shy about his addiction to the substance. While the “Good Times” rapper actually never said the substance in the IV was actually lean or whether or not its something that he is using daily, it sends a clear message that drug use is cool.

Fans are commenting on the photo saying that this is a clear message that Young Thug is crying for help with his addiction to lean. “Young Thug pumping lean in his arm through an IV? The addiction epidemic is glorified now so it’s not seen as a problem anymore until someone dies. This. Is. A. Huge. F***ing. Problem,” one fan tweeted while another added, “Young Thug has lean on an IV Drip and is posting it on social media. This is a cry for help if I’ve ever seen one.”

Last month, young rapper Lil Peep died from an apparent drug overdose on his tour bus. Back in 2008, UGK rapper Pimp C died of an apparent overdose on promethazine/codeine, he was just 33 years old at the time of his death.

Wiz Khalifa Talks Lil Peep’s Death and Why Lean Is Bad

Wiz Khalifa made headlines earlier this week when he told his fans that lean is lame.

In a PSA on his Instagram page a few days ago, Wiz called out rappers who regularly brags about drinking lean, also known as sizzurp. “When a lot of people follow one trend, or find themselves doing the same thing that everybody else is doing, you don’t really get somebody who speaks for the other side,” Khalifa said. “So I’m just going to go ahead and speak for the other side – lean is lame.”

Since Wednesday night, hip hop has been mourning the death of rising SoundCloud rapper Lil Peep who passed away of apparent drug overdose from anxiety med Xanax. His death renewed the call for young rappers to stay off drugs amidst a growing opioid epidemic in America. In an interview with Complex, Wiz Khalifa also spoke on the young rapper’s death and what it means for hip hop and drug use.

“I just feel like somebody has to speak up for people who don’t believe in that, or are really tired of seeing it,” the “See You Again” rapper said. “It’s unfortunate that Lil Peep had to die and stuff like that, but these are the things people are gonna start seeing and keep happening if they don’t really relax and fall back. I just want to be the responsible person and say something.”

Wiz also said that he got a couple friends that are drinking lean to this day and he tells them all the time that it’s wack. Perhaps Wiz Khalifa will bring more responsible rappers on board for a case to put an end to drug use in the culture and stop more young men and women from dying from drug overdose. Lil Peep is just the latest victim among celebrities, but ordinary people die everyday from drug use.

Lil Peep – The Song They Played (When I Crashed Into The Wall) [feat. Lil Tracy] (Hellboy Mixtape)

[Hook: Lil Peep]
I don’t wanna die alone right now, but I admit I do sometimes
These drugs are calling me, do one more line, don’t fall asleep
This is the song they played when I crashed into the wall
This is the girl I told that we could have it all

[Verse 1: Lil Peep]
This is the life I made and I can’t go back to fall
Back to fall, Back to everyone I ever knew at all
Back to small town blues, and not a clue of what’s going on
Back to old routines, and wedding rings and living at the mall, yeah

[Hook: Lil Peep]
I don’t wanna die alone right now, but I admit I do sometimes
These drugs are calling me, do one more line, don’t fall asleep
This is the song they played when I crashed into the wall
This is the girl I told that we could have it all

[Verse 2: Lil Tracy]
Baby I’m a drug, You’re addicted to my love
I thought you were the one, but you were just another one
Call me hellboy, I got fire in my blunt
Don’t call me emo, Don’t call me punk
I’m a vampire, Bitch I’m counting money up
I’m with Lil Peep yeah, we hotter then the sun
You should tell your boyfriend stop tryna be like us
Tatted on my face baby, I don’t give a fuck

[Hook: Lil Peep]
I don’t wanna die alone right now, but I admit I do sometimes
These drugs are calling me, do one more line, don’t fall asleep
