Just before John Mulaney was inducted into the five-timers club, Al Roker also popped into a party-themed sketch where he popped a bottle of champagne.

The Saturday Night Live Five-Timer’s Club is an honor held by few, but John Mulaney had quite the all-star lineup to usher him into the elite group when SNL returned on Sunday, Feb. 27. In the sketch everyone from Steve Martin to Paul Rudd to Al Roker made an appearance for John’s big moment, proving the SNL family still runs deep.

The sketch started with a couple of guys getting up in arms about a new variant — turning onto John Mulaney’s newscast, who dubbed the new “Gelvini” strain “a miracle” that’s mutated to be “good.” Apparently, the new “strain” makes you feel “good” and “not sick,” per the sketch. Paul Rudd then busted into the room and said he tested positive — and was actually feeling sick (not really).

“I’m going on vacay! See you in Bali, b—–!” John’s newscaster said on-screen as Paul and the trio of dudes started to party in a tiny NYC apartment. As if the Ant-Man star didn’t bring enough star power, iconic weatherman Al Roker crashed the soirée with a massive sub sandwich. “Did someone say hungry? Come again!”

Al was definitely down for the mood, pouring some scotch and proceeding to chug it before popping a bottle of champagne! The NBC host threw on a pair of “GOOD” glasses as he grooved along to some tunes. Throughout the sketch, Mulaney continued to narrate various symptoms — a bizarre one being “long, luscious locks.” Paul miraculously had long brunette hair, while Al seemed pretty thrilled with his new ‘do.

As the sketch wrapped, Paul stayed on stage alongside fellow five-timers Steve Martin and Candice Bergen all in their matching velvet robes! The crew was on hand to help induct John into the coveted five-timers club, which means one has hosted the show a milestone five times. “Alright, everybody…how do we think this show is going so far?” Steve asked the two.

“Not to be a b—-, but my show was supposed to be a lot better until the whole cast called out sick,” Paul retorted, referencing his scaled-back December episode amid the Omicron variant. “So what, I have COVID right now — I got it from the Queen! Humble brag,” Steve laughed.

John then entered nervously with a card that read “5,” asking, “Hi, I think I’m supposed to be in here?” Steve appeared a bit confused: “Oh, Megan Mullally Hi!” Candice then welcomed him to the “five timers club” (an actual club) but was also thrown off. “Let me be the first person to say — who are you?”

Tina Fey also joined the on-stage party. “I love us writers control everything with stage direction!” she hilariously said, sipping a “five-timers fizz” cocktail made with various celebrity alcohols.

John seemed taken aback by the A-List treatment in the club, noting that when he worked at the show, he was “just a writer.” Tina reminded him, however, he did come up with “that Bill Hader character” and about “800 other things that aged terribly.” The cameos didn’t stop, as Elliot Gould popped in seated to remind Paul he was in fact, “Sexiest Man Alive” by Chest Hair Magazine (Paul took the title from PEOPLE in 2021).

Conan O’Brien then waltzed in, declaring he was there to “sign up for Peacock” and that it was “weird they made him do it in person.” The late night host admitted that he and John were “never supposed to be on TV” because “they’re hideous.” After John finally got his coveted robe thanks to a donation from Paul, Conan had one last thing on his list — declaring, “Live from New York, it’s Saturday night!”

James Austin Johnson’s Joe Biden urged Americans to ‘stop seeing Spider-Man’ to prevent the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

James Austin Johnson’s Joe Biden had one goal during the cold open on Saturday Night Live: stop seeing Spider-Man: No Way Home to prevent the spread of Omicron. Johnson’s Biden was convinced that the hit film — which stars Tom Holland and Zendaya — was responsible for the massive spread of the virus. “Think about it,” he said on the January 15 episode. “When did Spider-Man come out? December 17th. When did every single person get Omicron? The week after December 17th. Stop seeing Spider-Man,” he urged.

And now, a message from President Joe Biden. pic.twitter.com/Q8TglFNBlF

— Saturday Night Live – SNL (@nbcsnl) January 16, 2022

The variant was spreading rapidly in mid-December, so perhaps Johnson’s Biden had a point. In fact, SNL was also majorly affected by COVID on the final episode of 2021, forcing the series to cancel its live sketches and audience (Tom Hanks was a last minute addition to the Paul Rudd hosted episode, alongside Tina Fey who filled in for Colin Jost). Johnson’s Biden went on to make some additional suggestions to reporters and Americans. “See anything else,” he added. “I saw the first half hour of House of Gucci. That’s more than enough movie for anyone,” referencing Lady Gaga and Adam Driver‘s film.

— Saturday Night Live – SNL (@nbcsnl) January 16, 2022

A reporter then suggested that perhaps there was another version of Biden in the “multi-verse” that “wants people” to see the movie. In the MCU, a multi-verse concept exists — which is how previous Spider-Man actors like Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were able to appear in the latest film with Tom Holland.

“Finally, a good question!” Johnson’s Joe explained. It turns out the concept had crossed his mind “I’ve actually thought about this a lot. I’ve consulted with Dr. Fauci and Dr. Strange [played by Benedict Cumberbatch in the films]. As far as I can tell there are at least three Joe Bidens. One of them is me,” he added.

“One of them is a Joe Biden that lost to [former president Donald] Trump. That Biden hosts a show on CNBC called ‘T-birds, Tacos and Trains.’ And then there’s a third Joe Biden that was the greatest president in history. My approval ratings are sky high, I’m actually supported by my own party, and I understand the show Euphoria,” he went on. Turns out one of the Joe’s was Pete Davidson from the “real universe” with a message for Johnson’s: that his universe was going to be destroyed!

“Everyone on Earth is better off in the real world except one man named Pete Davidson,” Pete’s Joe, rocking futuristic sunglasses and a blazer with nothing underneath, urged. “This world is maybe more fun for him,” Pete added.

Hollywood has lost one of the greats. Betty White has died at the age of 99, right as she was about to celebrate her birthday. Here’s what we know.

Today, friends, family, and fans of Betty White, are mourning the death of the actress, who sadly passed away, first reported by TMZ. Her death was later confirmed by Deadline, who reported that she died peacefully Thursday (Dec. 30) night in her home. “Even though Betty was about to be 100, I thought she would live forever,” her agent, Jeff Witjas, said in a statement. “I will miss her terribly and so will the animal world that she loved so much. I don’t think Betty ever feared passing because she always wanted to be with her most beloved husband Allen Ludden. She believed she would be with him again.”

Betty’s death comes weeks before she would have turned 100 (January 17). Her last tweets were in honor of the upcoming milestone. “My 100th birthday… I cannot believe it is coming up,” she tweeted while promoting a special interview with People magazine. She also promoted Betty White: 100 Years Young, a theatrical event that was going to be a star-studded celebration that included, Ryan Reynolds, Tina Fey, Robert Redford, Lin Manuel- Miranda, Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Jay Leno, Carol Burnett, Craig Ferguson, Jimmy Kimmel, Valerie Bertinelli, James Corden, Wendie Malick, and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Betty Marion White Ludden was born on January 17, 1922, had the longest television career of a female entertainer; she was also the first woman to produce a sitcom. Often referred to as a “pioneer” in the entertainment industry, White was a legendary actress and comedian. With a career that spanned over 75 years, White has earned five Emmys, two Daytime Emmys, three American Comedy Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and the list goes on. White also had her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, awarded to her in 1988.

However, her most recent regular role included TV Land’s Hot In Cleveland. Betty also made appearances on NBC’s Crowded and Fox’s Bones. She even hosted Saturday Night Live in 2010. Aside from her professional work, Betty spent most of her time committed to animal health advocacy. She has been recognized for her close relationship with the Los Angeles Zoo.

Back in Jan. 2017, Betty sat down with Katie Couric, just after her 95th birthday, to discuss life advice. “I seriously can’t believe it. I keep thinking, ‘Betty, you’re 95 years old,’” she said. “I’m so blessed with good health, and I’ve got memories and all that; you can’t expect that at 95. I am the luckiest old broad on two feet.” Betty also revealed that she concentrated on keeping busy, while enjoying and indulging in things she was interested in.

In her lifetime, Betty married three times —  U.S. Army Corps pilot Dick Barker [1945]; Hollywood agent Lane Allen [1947-1949]; Then, Betty married for the third and last time in 1963 to television host Allen Ludden. The pair were happily married until Ludden’s death from stomach cancer in 1981. She never remarried after his death. Betty is survived by her three stepchildren, who are from Ludden’s first marriage.

Our thoughts are with Betty’s loved ones during this difficult time.

Tom Hanks and Tina Fey were also joined virtually by Martin Short and Steve Martin for the ultimate star-studded opening.

Paul Rudd just got the career honor of a lifetime: he was crowned a member of the Five-Timers club on Saturday Night Live! The 52-year-old hosted the final show of 2021 on Dec. 18 and had the honor of being inducted by former SNL cast member Tina Fey and legend Tom Hanks, who’s also a member of the formidable club (as is Tina). Tina and Tom lead the opening in matching “5” robes, explaining that tonight’s episode was looking a little different due to COVID-19.

“I am not alone — isn’t that right Tina?” Tom announced as Tina walked out. “I am here, and this is not the smallest audience I have performed for as I have done improv in a Macy’s,” she hilariously joked, wearing her signature black glasses. “Tina, another five timer…thank you for joining me. As you know I started the five timers club…” the Cast Away actor went off, as Tina interjected: “Oh, like you started COVID?” Notably, Tom was the first public figure to be diagnosed with the virus in March 2020 alongside his wife Rita Wilson.

“Tonight, we plan to welcome Paul Rudd to the club and we are not going to let this stop us,” Tom then declared, as Paul made his entrance. “Thank you for coming! I’m extremely disappointed,” the Ant-Man actor said to the pair. In an effort to cheer Paul up, Tom reminded the former Friends actor that we was just named “most sexist man of the year” by PEOPLE magazine. “Uh, sexiest,” Paul then clarified.

m”Well we had a whole show planned,” Paul said, alluding to the news of several actors testing positive for the virus before going to air. As a result of the Omicron variant, NBC cancelled the scheduled in-studio audience for the evening just hours before taping. “I can’t believe I’m not going to get my five timer jacket,” he said, clearly let down — but it turns out, Kenan Thompson — the “longest tenured cast member” had the memento ready to go!

Steve Martin and Martin Short also appeared to help induct Paul into the five-timers club. (NBC)

“Congratulations on hosting the show four and a half times!” Kenan hilariously said as he handed the stitched velvet robe to Paul — prompting Tom to tease a “special message” that was recorded just for Paul ahead of tonight’s episode! Comic legends Martin Short and Steve Martin then appeared virtually — only, it turns out Steve didn’t quite know Paul’s name, forcing Tom to dub his own voice over. “Oh, it’s Martin Short…you remember the five-timers club right?” he said to the Canadian-born icon, who explained he had only actually hosted three times.

Dec. 18’s ‘SNL’ episode was a shuffle due to COVID! In a last minute switch, Tina Fey replaced Colin Jost on ‘Weekend Update.’

Cute the time machine: Tina Fey is back on Saturday Night Live! The 51-year-old unexpectedly popped in to host Weekend Update in place of usual host Colin Jost, 38. “It’s not what you think — he’s having work done,” she joked alongside Michael Che. The duo were on the main stage at Studio 8H versus the news desk set up, performing for an audience of just three: Tom Hanks, Kenan Thompson and of course, host Paul Rudd.

“We thought we’d read these dumb jokes and see if we could make these three laugh,” Che added as Tina asked the trio to confirm they have not heard the jokes before. “Except the two you blew in the rehearsal,” Tom called out, before Michael went into the first stories of the night: OJ Simpson‘s parole being over early and Elon Musk getting a major cover from Time. “Elon Musk is was named Time‘s Person of the Year, which you can read on your phone as your Tesla drives itself into a lake,” Tina hilariously announced.

Of course, Tina is no stranger to Weekend Update: the Mean Girls star hosted the segment with co-star Jimmy Fallon from 2000 – 2004, and then with real-life BFF Amy Poehler from 2004 – 2006. Tina and Amy were the show’s first-ever and only all-female anchor team. Tina originally joined the show in 1997 as a writer, was one of the SNL‘s main stars when she departed in 2006 to pursue other projects in film and television.

The Dec. 18 episode of SNL went to air looking very different than planned due to COVID-19. Amid the spreading Omicron variant, the network cancelled tickets for the in-person audience that was set to attend just hours ahead of the taping. “Due to the recent spike in the Omicron variant and out of an abundance of caution, there will be no live audience for tonight’s taping of “Saturday Night Live” and the show will have limited cast and crew,” SNL tweeted earlier this after noon.

The formal statement was issued shortly after reports surfaced that several of the actors had allegedly tested positive for COVID-19 — including Colin, per The New York Post. Amid the shuffle, musical guest Charli XCX also pulled out of her performance due to limited production staff. “My performance will not be able to go ahead. I am devastated and heartbroken,” the British singer wrote via social media.

— Charli (@charli_xcx) December 18, 2021

“Our crews and teams worked so hard to bring this musical performance to life. It can’t happen this time, but I’ll be back,” she added, confirming she is currently “safe” and “healthy.” Charli urged fans to “take care of themselves” and “get vaccinated” as she signed off her statement.

Adam Levine surprised ‘SNL’ fans with an unexpected appearance! The superstar sounded amazing performing alongside Jack Harlow.

Jack Harlow, 23, slayed his Saturday Night Live debut on March 27 — and he had one very special guest: Adam Levine, 42! The Maroon 5 singer appears on Jack’s debut studio album Thats What They All Say on the track “Same Guy,” which they performed together at Studio 8H. Jack, wearing a pink satin button down, diamond chain and white t-shirt, started his low key performance solo as Adam popped out for his verse.

Twitter erupted in excitement with Adam’s surprise appearance! “Adam Levine breaking into this song on SNL like Andy adding his vocals to Hunters song in the Dinner Party. No one asked, it’s just happens. #SNL #theoffice #dinnerparty,” one person tweeted. “adam levine literally just appearing on snl out of thin air,” another wrote, while other fans said his vocals were “fire.” While many were thrilled to see the singer, some were curious about his choice to wear quarantine attire and longer hair on stage. “Good on Adam Levine for showing up during the musical guest segment of SNL still apparently rocking a do-it-yourself pandemic haircut,” another wrote.

Adam Levine isn’t the only big name on Jack’s debut album, which also includes features by rappers Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, late R&B star Static Major, and, of course, Chris Brown. Chris and Jack teamed up for the sexy R&B tune “Already Best Friends,” which they dropped a video for on March 11. In the video, the pair party it up in Mexico surrounding by women as they sing about their newfound friendship and menage-a-trois.

The Maya Rudolph episode was full of surprises, with Martin Short appearing as Kamala Harris‘ husband Doug Emhoff for a hilarious Passover Seder sketch. In the bit, Martin’s Doug unfortunately gets attacked by Joe Biden’s dog Major — and later plants a big kiss on Kamala’s Maya. The hilarious episode also included cameos by Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig and Rachel Dratch.

While presenting at the 2021 Golden Globe AwardsCatherine Zeta-Jones slayed the stage in a gorgeous gown. Before the show, Catherine also walked the socially distant red carpet with her husband, Michael Douglas, in the stunning look. She wore an off-the-shoulder black gown, and showed some leg thanks to a slit that ran all the way up one side of the dress.

Catherine completed her look with a pair of sky-high heels, which strapped around her ankle and featured an open toe. Her hair cascaded down her back, and she wore minimal accessories, so that the focus of the night was on her ensemble. She posed with her left leg sticking out to accentuate the sexy slit.

The coronavirus pandemic put a bit of the damper on the Globes this year, as there was only a limited red carpet before the show. Hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler also broadcasted from separate coasts, with Tina in New York and Amy in California. Presenters attended the event in-person, with some stars on the east coast and some on the west coast. However, most of the nominees were only able to attend virtually.

Catherine has attended the Globes many times over the years, and she always looks amazing on the red carpet. At the show in 2019, she walked alongside her husband, Michael Douglas, while wearing a glamorous, one-shouldered green dress with a thigh-high slit. The year before that, she stunned in a long-sleeved, sheer black gown with a deep plunging neckline.

Although Catherine is only at the Globes as a presenter this year, she’s experienced attending the show as a nominee in the past, as well. In 2000 she received a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role in Traffic, and in 2002, she was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for starring in Chicago.

With Alec Baldwin reprising his iconic portrayal of Donald Trump & Jim Carrey on board to play Joe Biden, season 46 of ‘SNL’ is going to be epic!

Saturday Night Live is perhaps best known for its politically-themed sketches, and fans can be assured that the upcoming 46th season isn’t going to disappoint! “SNL is always politically charged and this year will be no different. Colin Jost and the rest of the writers and cast are very eager to dive into this presidential season with all hands-on deck,” a source close to production tells HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY. Notably, Colin serves as co-anchor on “Weekend Update” as well as a writer on the series.

With the presidential election coming up on Nov. 2, showrunner Lorne Michaels has already got Alec Baldwin, 62, back on board to play Donald Trump, as well as comic legend Jim Carrey, 58, to tackle the role of Joe Biden. “[SNL staffers] can’t wait to work with Jim Carrey, Alec Baldwin and everyone else. There [are] going to be lots of skits and openers surrounding the election and whatever happens post-election. It will be a very big part of the show this season,” the insider also revealed. After a series of “At-Home” episodes to close out season 45, SNL will be back at Studio 8H for it’s upcoming Oct. 3 premiere.

Recently, Lorne opened up about his decision to bring Jim on board. “There was some interest on [Jim]’s part. And then we responded, obviously, positively,” the longtime SNL executive producer told Vulture. “But it came down to discussions about what the take was. He and Colin Jost had a bunch of talks. He and I as well. He will give the part energy and strength, and…Hopefully it’s funny,” he added, laughing. While Jim has hosted SNL a number of times over the years, the Ace Ventura actor was never a full-time cast member on the NBC series. He did, however, audition for the show back in 1980 (and didn’t make the cut).

In the interview, Lorne also clarified that he doesn’t view Jim and Alec’s appearances as “celebrity cameos” — noting that Woody Harrelson also portrayed Joe Biden last season. “I honestly don’t think of them as celebrity cameos….Alec Baldwin’s probably done the show 25 or 30 times. He’s just part of an extended group in the same way that if Tina Fey has something meaningful to say on Update, we’d welcome her,” he explained. “It’s the same way with Maya [Rudolph, as Kamala] — you saw what she brought to it. So, I don’t think of it that way. Beck [Bennett] will be doing Pence because he does it brilliantly…But I’m thrilled Jim’s doing it.”

Tina Fey is back! The former ‘SNL’ star showed up on on the season finale and reflected on simpler times, like when the world was worried about the Royals’ security bill.

Saturday Night Live is always star-studded, but since going virtual, the list of names has been endless! Fans were so delighted to see favorite Tina Fey, 49, make her return to ‘Weekend Update,’ which she memorably co-anchored with Jimmy Fallon from 2000 – 2004. In her brief appearance, the Mean Girls actress reflected on the COVID-19 pandemic and revealed how she’s been getting through this difficult time. “It’s okay to try and find moments of levity and joy. Now when the news is too much and I like to laugh about three months ago when everyone was so worried about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry,” she quipped. “Oh my god, you’re free guys — no one cares who pays for your Vancouver security detail!” she went on, admitting that she couldn’t even “remember what they look like.” Ouch!

It turns out that Tina’s kids — daughters Alice, 14, and Penelope, 8 — have been driving her a little nuts at home. “I don’t know Latin, Che! And now I’m in charge of teaching it to my kid!” she ranted to Michael Che, admitting that she’s been “making up gibberish and saying that’s Latin,” before apologizing to her daughters’ school! “I wanted to offer a special prayer for mother’s everywhere this Mother’s Day…this Mother’s Day, give us the grace to accept the things that cannot be changed: like the sheets. I can’t do it anymore Che! I’ve changed them like eight times already, shouldn’t they be clean forever now?” she pondered. We feel your pain, Tina.

“Give us the courage to change the things we can, like our Zoom background — from a tropical beach, to a picture of Governor [Andrew] Cuomo holding you like a baby…you can hit his nipple ring like a rattle!” she hilariously continued. “To a picture of my foot from two months ago when it still looked human,” apparently needing a pedicure just as bad as the rest of us. “I smell fine,” she concluded, along with a brief thank you for nurses and frontline workers.

Just two weeks ago, Brad Pitt, 56, slayed with the most epic cold-open ever as Dr. Anthony Fauci! The unexpected appearance came shortly after the 79-year-old doctor said that Brad Pitt would be his top choice to play him on the long-running comedy sketch series, and we have to say — Brad totally nailed it! “I’m a great fan of Brad Pitt and that’s the reason why when people ask me who I would like to play me I mention Brad Pitt. He’s one of my favorite actors. I think he did a great job,” Anthony gushed in an April 27 interview, going on to praise the Oscar winner for his tribute to healthcare workers. “I think he showed that he is really a classy guy when at the end he took off his hair and thanked me and all of the health care workers,” he added.

The episode didn’t stop there, as Adam Sandler also made his return to the series! The comedian was a full-time cast member from 1991 – 1995 before going on to have a successful film career, and had last appeared in 2019. Adam joined forces with Pete Davidson for the ultimate quarantine anthem, which also included cameos by Adam’s wife and daughter! “I’m done with selfies, so don’t even ask — staying in the house in an underwear mask,” Adam hilariously sang, complete with — yes — a pair of underwear on his face. “I baked my own bread and it tastes like s—,” the Murder Mystery star also revealed, gong on to spit a piece of bread right in his 13-year-old daughter Sadie‘s face! The fun didn’t stop there, as former SNL-er Rob Schneider popped up for the definition of a social-distanced cameo as he knocked on Adam’s door. The comedian appeared in a shot through the window, as Adam sang a line about his longtime friend and former co-star!

Lin-Manuel Miranda – My Shot Lyrics

[Lin-Manuel Miranda]
I am not throwing away my shot
I am not throwing away my shot
My name is Lin-Manuel
I am hosting SNL
And I am not throwing away my shot

Now I’m gonna go for broke and do it all tonight
Take a swing
Pass the baton
Give me the ball tonight
I got a Tony and an Emmy and a Grammy yo
But what I really want’s a famous person cameo
Damn yo
Imma do a bunch of sketches
Sometimes I’ll play the lead
Give you what you need
Got your cue cards for me to read, yes indeed
Tonight you’ll see me at my naughtiest and bawdiest
And now I’m going to walk into the audience

Cause I am not throwing away my shot
I am not throwing away my shot
This is my one big chance so bring on the dancers
Because I am not throwing away my shot
It’s time to take a shot!

And yes I’m right in my element
Who knew that Hamilton would be so topically relevant?
The way these grand-standing candidates be talking
They’re just a tweet away from facing off in Weehawken
They keep brawling
D and RNC keep falling
I like it better when it’s Kate McKinnon V. Baldwin
Yo so we thick in the plot, stirring the pot
Tonight I’m finally earning my spot
On this wall, in this hall and I’m getting a piece of it
Like Miley, Schumer, Tracy Morgan, and this piece-

(Well you’re never gonna be president now
Never gonna be president now
Never gonna be president now
Never gonna be-)

And I am not throwing away my shot
I am not throwing away my shot
Ay yo election news cycles
And time with Lorne Michaels
I am not throwing away my shot

[Lorne Michaels]
Lin, you having a good time?

[Lin-Manuel MIranda]
I’m having the time of my life Lorne

[Lorne Michaels]
Great
Any word on those Hamilton Tickets?

[Lin-Manuel Miranda]
Oh yeah, I’ll see what I can do. No promises though

[Lorne Michaels]
I can do a matinee

[Lin Manuel Miranda]
Yo, but seriously guys
Since I was five I decided to keep my eyes pried open wide
Waiting for Saturday Night Life
Gilda Radner, Chevy Chase, insane, inhuman
The way Don Pardo would say ‘Laraine Newman!’
Dana Carvey, Tina Fey, Vanessa Bayer, David Spade
I prayed and stayed up late
Hoping one day they’d say I made the grade

Breathe

Savor it
Own it
I swear to God
If I’m hosting I’m making the most of this moment tonight
And I am not throwing away my shot
I am not throwing away my shot
And as long as I remember to vote this November
I am not throwing away my shot
